Description: Royals left fielder Alex Gordon is a career .455 hitter (5-for-11) against Red Sox pitcher Clay Buchholz.

Description: Kansas City left fielder Alex Gordon has batted .333 with eight extra-base hits (3 HR) over his last 28 games, but his matchup Wednesday isn't favorable.
Insight: Gordon has been good against left-handers over the past two years, but he's 6-for-28 (.214) with a .516 OPS against Oakland left-hander Scott Kazmir. Avoid him Wednesday.

Insight: Gordon (.269, 9 HR, 44 RBI) had just three hits in his previous 40 at-bats (.075). His inclusion on the 2014 AL All-Star team is as much about his defense as it is his hitting. According to FanGraphs, he leads baseball with a UZR of 23.9.

7/6/2014 10:05:00 AM
Description: Kansas City left fielder Alex Gordon will not be in Sunday's starting lineup against Corey Kluber and the Cleveland Indians.
