Description: Mets shortstop Wilmer Flores whacked his first career grand slam Monday in a blowout win against the Phillies.
Insight: Flores was responsible for driving in six of New York's 11 runs. He's not a particularly exciting fantasy option with just 12 hits in his first 50 at bats (.240 AVG).

Description: The Mets are expected to promote Wilmer Flores from Triple-A due to shortstop Ruben Tejada's struggles, according to Adam Rubin of espnny.com.
Insight: Tejada has batted .183 this season, though he deserves much better. He's hit a line drive on 32.8 percent of his batted balls, eighth-highest in baseball among players with at least 50 plate appearances, but is hitting just .246 on balls in play. Flores owns a .307 average, five home runs and 25 RBI in 29 games for Triple-A Las Vegas.

8/13/2013 6:14:00 PM
Description: Wilmer Flores is not in the Mets lineup Tuesday due to a right ankle injury.
Insight: Flores rolled his ankle on third base Monday night but stayed in the game and didn't require any X-rays. He was hoping to be in the lineup Tuesday, but the team will give him at least one game off. The 22-year-old is hitting .259 with one homer and nine RBI in 27 at-bats since being summoned to the majors.

8/11/2013 9:44:00 AM
Description: Mets 22-year-old third baseman Wilmer Flores has eight RBI in his first five big league games.
Insight: Flores is 4-for-19 (.211) and has gone hitless in three of his five games, but he is getting timely hits for the Mets so far. David Wright could possibly miss the rest of the season, so fantasy owners should give Flores a chance.

8/6/2013 4:42:00 PM
Description: Mets third baseman Wilmer Flores will make his major league debut Tuesday against the Rockies.
Insight: Flores celebrated his 22nd birthday with a callup to the majors. He'll start in place of David Wright, who is on the DL with a hamstring injury. Flores, who is considered the No. 4 prospect in New York's system by MLB.com, hit .321 with 36 doubles, 15 homers, 86 RBI and an .887 OPS in 107 games with Triple-A Las Vegas this season and should be added in deeper mixed leagues.
