Description: Giants closer Sergio Romo allowed the game-winning homer Saturday against the Cubs.
Insight: Romo was charged with the loss for the second time in as many nights. He's already allowed four runs since the All-Star break though only two of them have been earned (4.15 ERA in 4 1/3 innings). The Giants are fading fast (1-6 in their last seven games) and Romo's struggles certainly won't help them get back in the NL West race.

Description: San Francisco closer Sergio Romo was invited to his first All-Star Game on Sunday.
Insight: Jordan Zimmermann and Jeff Locke are both injured, which opened up a spot for Romo on the NL roster. The righthander has converted 21 of 24 saves this year with a 2.86 ERA in 32 2/3 innings.

2/6/2013 7:34:00 PM
Description: The Giants and closer Sergio Romo avoided arbitration by agreeing to a two-year, $9 million deal on Monday.
Insight: Romo's emergence last season made fan favorite Brian Wilson (Tommy John surgery) expendable. The 29-year-old should be a top-ten closer in 2013.

6/7/2012 3:44:00 PM
Description: Giants setup man Sergio Romo's availability for Thursday's game against San Diego is in question because of soreness in his left knee.
Insight: Romo enjoyed a short stint of fantasy relevance earlier in the week by picking up three saves but now that closer Santiago Casilla has been cleared to play again, it's likely he'll be heading back to his more familiar setup role. Romo has been brilliant in 2012 and leads the team in ERA at 0.54.

6/3/2012 6:52:00 PM
Description: Giants reliever Sergio Romo picked up his second save in as many days against the Cubs on Sunday.
Insight: Giants manager Bruce Bochy has called on Romo for two save chances with closer Santiago Casilla out temporarily with a sore knee. Though Romo is going back to middle relief when Casilla comes back, he's making a case that he should be owned anyway. The right-hander has allowed just one run in 15 2/3 innings this season while striking out 21 batters.
