Mudcats, Hillcats finale canceled in Lynchburg
Posted May 11
Thursday’s series finale between the Carolina Mudcats and Lynchburg Hillcats was canceled due to rain at Calvin Falwell Field in Lynchburg, VA. Thursday’s game was the final scheduled meeting between the two teams in the first half and will not be made up.
Carolina won both games of Wednesday’s doubleheader and now leaves Lynchburg with a two games to one series victory. The series victory is Carolina’s first since taking two out of three to start the season in both Frederick (4/7-4/9) and Wilmington (4/10-4/12).
The Mudcats will return for more baseball magic at Five County Stadium tomorrow night, on Friday, May 12 with game one of a seven game home stand and the first game of a three game series versus the Winston-Salem Dash (5/12-5/14). The new home stand then continues on Monday, May 15 with game one of four versus the Down East Wood Ducks (5/15-5/17).
The next home stand is highlighted by Friday Night Fireworks presented by Sears Home Services and Pack Your Bags Night featuring a trip giveaway to Myrtle Beach, SC from VisitMyrtleBeach.com on Friday, May 12. It also features Cats and Canes Night presented by the Brain Injury Association of NC and a Mother’s Day Carnation Giveaway on Saturday, May 18.
The next home stand also includes The Blood Connection’s Blood Drive (5/13), Weiner Wednesday (5/17) and Education Day (5/18).
