NACDA names UNC's Cunningham 3rd Vice President

— UNC athletics director Bubba Cunningham will become the 3rd Vice President of The National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics following the 2014 convention.

NACDA, Nominating Committee Chair and NACDA President Mike Alden, director of athletics at the University of Missouri as well as the organization's officers, executives and past presidents made the announcement Wednesday.

“It is an honor to be named the 3rd Vice President of NACDA,” says Cunningham. “Representing my colleagues on the board is a privilege and I look forward to addressing the challenges that each of us is dealing with in today’s dynamic world of college athletics.”

Cunningham is in his third year as the UNC AD after serving in the same role at Tulsa and Ball State. He was named the 2008-09 Under Armour Athletics Director of the Year and has been a featured speaker at numerous NACDA conferences.

    Hope you are right and this pays off for the ACC. It should help the conference to have representation at this level.
