NOTES:
The Cheez-It 355 at Watkins Glen International is the 22nd race on the 2013 Sprint Cup Series schedule.

Located in the scenic Finger Lakes region of Upstate New York, Watkins Glen International opened in 1956. NASCAR's premier series competed there for the first time the following year. The series raced at Watkins Glen again in 1964 and '65. After a 21-year absence, the racing circuit returned to this road course and has run one race there each year since 1986.

There have been 30 races in NASCAR's top series held at Watkins Glen. Buck Baker started on the pole and won the inaugural Cup event there, The Glen 101.2, on Aug. 4, 1957.

Terry Labonte, Mark Martin and Michael Waltrip share the record for most starts at Watkins Glen with 22 each. None of those drivers is entered in this year's race there. Jeff Gordon has 20 starts at this course, which is more than any other driver who is on the entry list.

Tony Stewart holds the record for most victories at Watkins Glen with five. Stewart will not compete in this weekend's race there due to the injury (broken right leg) he sustained in a sprint car race earlier this week at Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa, Iowa. Max Papis is scheduled to drive his No. 14 Chevrolet at Watkins Glen.

Marcos Ambrose will attempt to win his third consecutive Sprint Cup race at Watkins Glen. Ambrose's first two career victories in the series came at this track. Martin and Gordon have both won three races in a row there. Martin started on the pole and scored the victory at Watkins Glen each year from 1993-95. Gordon's three straight wins there occurred from 1997-99.

Rick Hendrick has the most car owner wins at Watkins Glen with six, followed by Joe Gibbs with five.

Dale Earnhardt and Martin have the most pole wins at Watkins Glen with three each. Gordon and Labonte are next in line with two poles apiece there.

The race winner at Watkins Glen has started from the pole nine times, which is more than any other starting position there. Kyle Busch most recently did it in 2008.

The furthest back a driver has started and won a Cup race at Watkins Glen is 18th, accomplished by Steve Park in 2000. Park's first win in the series came at this track.

Since NASCAR began using electronic timing and scoring in 1993, the closest margin of victory in a Cup race at Watkins Glen occurred in 2001 when Gordon beat Jeff Burton to the finish line by just 0.172 seconds. Gordon has not won a race there since then.

Busch holds the record as the youngest driver to win a race at Watkins Glen. He won there on Aug. 10, 2008 when he was 23 years, 3 months and 8 days old. When Geoff Bodine was 47 years, 3 months and 24 days old, he became the oldest driver to win at this track on Aug. 11, 1996.

The next race is the Aug. 18 Pure Michigan 400 at Michigan International Speedway. Greg Biffle won last year's race there.
