NBA Game Summary - Golden State at Minnesota

(Wednesday, November 6th)

Final Score: Golden State 106, Minnesota 93

Minneapolis, MN (SportsNetwork.com) - Klay Thompson drained six 3-pointers and scored 30 points and the Golden State Warriors got their seventh straight win over the Minnesota Timberwolves, 106-93 on Wednesday night.

David Lee had 22 points and 15 rebounds and Andre Iguodala scored 20 for the Warriors, who won their third game in a row to improve to 4-1.

They have won four straight in Minneapolis and 13 of the last 15 games overall in the series.

Kevin Love had 25 points and 16 rebounds for Minnesota, while Kevin Martin scored 23 and Corey Brewer added 18 points.

The Timberwolves have lost two in a row after starting the season 3-0 for the first time in 12 years.

Warriors guard Stephen Curry checked out with 2:24 left in the third quarter and didn't come back in, saying afterward he had a sore knee and ankle. He had five points on 2-for-8 shooting.

Curry's right ankle was pinned to the floor when Minnesota guard Ricky Rubio fell on it near the sideline in the second half.

The Warriors led by 11 when Curry went out and took a 79-71 advantage into the fourth quarter. Later, a 10-1 run bookended by two Thompson 3-pointers gave them an 18-point lead with less than six minutes remaining.

Curry said he was fortunate his team was leading comfortably so he didn't have to debate whether or not he could go back into the game.

"I wasn't going to force it if I didn't have to," Curry said.

The Timberwolves built an eight-point lead in the first quarter with a 10-0 run behind four points from Love and a 3 from Martin.

They led 28-26 going into the second but fell behind for good after Thompson's turnaround put the Warriors on top 31-30. It was 50-47 at the break.

"We just didn't have any rhythm at either end of the court, especially after the first quarter," said Timberwolves coach Rick Adelman.

In the third, a steal and a long outlet pass left Curry chasing down the ball at the other end of the court. He caught up to it and dropped a pass between his legs to Harrison Barnes for a slam dunk.

The play came during an 8-0 run after the Timberwolves had pulled within three points.

Game Notes

Barnes had 14 points off the bench ... The Warriors are 2-0 on a four-game road trip that continues this weekend with games at San Antonio on Friday and Memphis on Saturday ... Minnesota remains at home to play Dallas on Friday.
