NBA Game Summary - Milwaukee at LA Clippers

(Monday, March 24th)

Final Score: LA Clippers 106, Milwaukee 98

Los Angeles, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Blake Griffin deposited a 27-point, 14- rebound double-double to help the Los Angeles Clippers to their fifth straight win over the Milwaukee Bucks with a 106-98 decision on Monday.

The Clippers picked up win No. 50 for the second straight season and just the second time in franchise history.

Darren Collison scored 15 points with six assists and Chris Paul dropped in 14 points with seven assists for Los Angeles, which won for the eighth straight time at Staples Center and has taken 13 of its last 14 overall.

"We were not pleased with our effort," said Collison. "We made mistakes, but at the end of the day getting the win is all that matters."

Ramon Sessions netted a season-high 28 points for the Bucks, who lost for the eighth straight game.

Zaza Pachulia and Jeff Adrien each scored 14 points in the setback.

"I was very pleased with our effort," said Bucks head coach Larry Drew. "We competed. Ramon (Sessions) played well at both ends of the floor. It came down to making plays in the fourth quarter and we didn't. We have to be consistent."

Los Angeles led 15-13 just past the midway point of the first quarter when Griffin bookended a 13-3 run with a pair of layups.

A Glen Davis layup later in the frame gave the Clippers their largest lead of the game, 33-18, with just under two minutes left in the first.

Milwaukee bridged the first and second quarters with a 15-3 run that Sessions capped with a jumper at the nine-minute mark to cut the deficit to 38-36.

The Bucks remained close and trailed 57-52 at the break.

"We started the game right," said Clippers coach Doc Rivers. "We got a 12- point lead, then our bench came in and gave it up. Down the stretch we executed well. We have to keep winning games to get homecourt. It's going to be a very competitive last 11 games."

Los Angeles led by 11 with under six minutes to go in the third when Milwaukee ripped off a 10-2 run to cut margin to three. The Bucks trailed 79-74 heading to the fourth.

The hosts remained at arm's length in the final period. Holding a four-point lead, Jamal Crawford, who scored 13 points off the bench for LA, nailed a 3- pointer before Paul converted two free throws to push the spread to 101-92 advantage with under three minutes remaining.

Game Notes

The Clippers improved to 29-0 at home when leading after three quarters ... Los Angeles shot 38-of-78 from the field and Milwaukee made 41-of-85 attempts from the floor ... The Clippers had a 40-38 edge on the boards ... The Bucks owned a 54-40 advantage in the paint ... LA scored 22 points off of 10 Milwaukee turnovers.
