Thunder hit the road to face Atlanta

(SportsNetwork.com) - The Oklahoma City Thunder are back on the road for a pair of games, starting with Tuesday's showdown with the Atlanta Hawks at Philips Arena.

The Thunder went 2-1 on a recent road trip and returned home to post a 118-94 victory over the talented Indiana Pacers on Sunday. Kevin Durant had 36 points, 10 rebounds and five assists, while Russell Westbrook added 26 points and 13 assists for the Thunder, who have won 10 of their last 11 games and moved to 10-0 at home this year.

"I thought our guys did a great job of executing the game plan. We're a good defensive team too, we don't necessarily tell the world that. But we play with a lot of pride on the defensive end," OKC head coach Scott Brooks said.

Oklahoma City is 5-4 as the visitor this season and will make a stop in Memphis on Wednesday. Tuesday's game is the first night of the Thunder's third back-to-back of the season.

The Hawks have won two in a row since losing five of six games and are coming off a 108-89 victory versus the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday.

Al Horford poured in 22 points to go with nine rebounds. Paul Millsap added 16 points and 14 rebounds, while Jeff Teague and Lou Williams finished with 13 points apiece for the Hawks, who are 2-0 on a four-game homestand and 7-3 in the Peach State this season.

Hawks sharpshooter Kyle Korver, who finished with 10 points, set an NBA record with at least one 3-pointer made in 90 straight games. Dana Barros had the mark of 89 games with a 3-pointer made.

"Hopefully I keep it going. It has never been like a streak. It is about making the shots that you get. I don't want to be a high volume shooter. I try to be efficient. I get a shot and just try to make it," said Korver. "I didn't even know this record existed until midway through the year last year when people started to talk about it. It is cool, but was never my focus."

Atlanta played excellent defense and Cleveland star point guard Kyrie Irving was held scoreless after going 0-for-9 from the field and 0-for-3 from the foul line. It was the first time Irving has been held without a point in his career.

The Hawks will close out the homestand Friday versus Washington and split two meetings with Oklahoma City last season. OKC has won three of four and eight of the last 10 contests at Philips Arena.
