NBA Preview from The Sports Network

Tuesday, February 11th (All times Eastern)

Miami Heat (35-14) at Phoenix Suns (30-20), 9 p.m.

(SportsNetwork.com) - The Miami Heat will continue their long road odyssey Tuesday night when they visit US Airways Center to do battle with the Phoenix Suns.

The Heat are 1-1 thus far on the sojourn. The loss came Saturday night when they had a three-game winning streak halted at the hands of the Utah Jazz. Utah prevailed 94-89, holding the Heat under 90 points for the first time in their last 27 games.

"We played well enough defensively, but offensively we didn't shoot the ball as well as we're capable of doing," acknowledged LeBron James. "It was offensively one of those games where we were out of rhythm and we tried to win defensively."

The Heat, who lost their third in a row in Salt Lake City, got 19 points from Dwyane Wade. James and Chris Bosh each had 13 points and seven rebounds, while Mario Chalmers and Norris Cole both finished with 12.

Despite the off night offensively (Miami shot 43.3 percent and 30.4 percent from long range), the Heat had a chance until Trey Burke buried a jumper with less than 25 seconds on the clock.

The Heat will visit the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday, then have off for the All-Star break, where James, Wade and Bosh will all represent the Eastern Conference.

After the break, the Heat head to Dallas to take on the Mavericks and Oklahoma City for the rematch against Kevin Durant and the Thunder.

The Suns snapped a two-game losing streak Saturday with a 122-109 home drubbing of the Golden State Warriors. Phoenix lost at home against the Chicago Bulls and in Houston against the Rockets, but still have won six of its last eight.

Goran Dragic scored a career-high 34 points and dished out 10 assists as the Suns buried the Warriors at US Airways Center.

Dragic finished the game 10-of-13 from the field, including an outstanding 6- for-7 from 3-point range.

"Tonight I was just feeling it. The rim was big for me," said Dragic, who was playing in front of his son for the first time. "I was a little bit hyped. I tried to show him what his daddy can do."

Gerald Green added 25 points and P.J. Tucker totaled 16 points, 15 rebounds and four steals for the Suns. Marcus Morris scored 14 points, Channing Frye added 13 and Miles Plumlee had 12 points and seven rebounds in the win.

The Heat beat the Suns by 15 in South Beach on Nov. 25 and have taken seven straight and 10 of the last 11 meetings. Miami owns a five-game winning streak in Phoenix.
