NBA Preview from The Sports Network

Sunday, November 24th (All times Eastern)

Phoenix Suns (6-6) at Orlando Magic (4-8), 6 p.m.

(SportsNetwork.com) - The Phoenix Suns were able to get back in the win column their last time out and will begin a tour through Florida with Sunday's test with the Orlando Magic at Amway Center.

The Suns will visit the Miami Heat on Monday and opened their three-game road trip with Friday's 98-91 win at Charlotte. Channing Frye led the way with a season-high 20 points, P.J. Tucker netted 17 and both Gerald Green and Goran Dragic scored 14 points, helping the Suns halt a four-game slide after a 5-2 start.

Phoenix was able to fend off the Bobcats to stop a three-game road skid.

"I'll take a win but that was pretty sketchy at the end," said Frye. "We're young and still trying to figure it out, but winning is winning and I'll take that any day of the week."

Green filled in once again for guard Eric Bledsoe, who is out indefinitely with a bruised shin, and is posting an average of 17.1 points in seven starts this season. Green has scored 10 or more points in three straight and nine of 10 contests.

Orlando has lost three in a row and was swept in a home-and-home series with the two-time defending champion Heat. In Saturday's 101-99 loss in south Florida, LeBron James knocked down the go-ahead jumper with 15.1 seconds to go and the Magic fell to 1-6 in the last seven games.

Arron Afflalo and Victor Oladipo both missed shots in the waning seconds for Orlando, which finished 46.6 percent shooting for the game and welcomed the return of power forward Glen Davis. Davis made his season debut while recovering from a foot injury and scored a team-high 20 points off the bench.

Davis was excited to get back to work.

"I wouldn't want to come back against no other team; this was a great game to come back and play," said Davis, who hadn't played since breaking the fifth metatarsal in his left foot on Jan. 30 and needed two procedures. "I'm just happy to be back, whether we played the NBA champs or if we played the Pelicans or something. I'm just happy to play basketball and show the world that I can contribute to a team. I'm just happy that I'm back."

Afflalo and Oladipo scored 18 and 17 points, respectively, and E'Twaun Moore chipped in 14 as a reserve in a losing cause. Miami has won seven straight against the Magic.

Orlando won both meetings with Phoenix last season and is unbeaten in five straight and seven of the last eight matchups between the teams. Phoenix has lost five straight at Orlando and will host the Magic on March 19, 2014.
