NBA Preview from The Sports Network

Wednesday, March 5th (All times Eastern)

Indiana Pacers (46-14) at Charlotte Bobcats (27-33), 7 p.m.

(SportsNetwork.com) - The Indiana Pacers had a five-game winning streak snapped last time out and embark on a three-game road trip, starting Wednesday night against the Charlotte Bobcats.

The Pacers lost a heartbreaker Tuesday night, a 98-96 home setback to the Golden State Warriors.

Golden State's Klay Thompson backed down George Hill and drained a turnaround jumper for the lead with 0.6 seconds left. Hill's long attempt for the win clanked off the back iron.

"They were too comfortable and I don't think we stayed the course, in terms of our aggressiveness and our fight," said David West. "They're a jump-shooting team and they got comfortable. Thompson got real comfortable. We had to fight uphill basically the six minutes in the fourth quarter just to steal a win on our home court."

Paul George supplied 26 points, 12 rebounds and four assists, while West added 27 points and seven rebounds for Indiana. Roy Hibbert and Lance Stephenson both chipped in 12.

The Pacers visit the Houston Rockets and Dallas Mavericks following Wednesday's tilt in Charlotte.

The Bobcats had won four in a row until a brutal road trip saw them go 0-3. Charlotte visited the San Antonio Spurs and Oklahoma City Thunder before heading to South Beach for a matchup with Southeast Division rivals, the Miami Heat.

The Bobcats enjoyed a front-row seat for one of the best individual performances of the season.

LeBron James set a career-high with 61 points and in the process established four new Heat franchise records. James broke Glen Rice's franchise-record of 56 points set in April of 1995, the team's mark for field goals in a game (22), most points in a quarter (25 in the third) and most points in a second half (37).

"When he gets going, there's nothing nobody can do about it," Charlotte center Al Jefferson said of James.

James' record-setting night spoiled a stellar effort from Jefferson, who scored 38 points and grabbed 19 rebounds for the Bobcats, who haven't beaten the Heat since an 83-78 win in Charlotte on March 9, 2010.

Chris Douglas-Roberts and Anthony Tolliver both chipped in 12 points and Gary Neal and Cody Zeller managed 10 points apiece.

The Bobcats have won four in a row at home, but have lost five in a row against the Pacers. Indiana is 5-1 in its last six at Charlotte.
