NBA Preview from The Sports Network

Saturday, February 1st (All times eastern)

Miami Heat (32-13) at New York Knicks (19-27), 8:30 p.m.

(Sports Network) - With all of the sporting eyes in the world focused on New York Sunday evening, the NBA offers its most successful team in town Saturday night.

The Miami Heat, the two-time defending NBA champions, will pay a visit to the New York Knicks Saturday at Madison Square Garden.

LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh will tangle with Carmelo Anthony in front of what is sure to be a Madison Square Garden crowd ripe with celebrities and other athletes.

"They're very smart," Bosh said of the those who make the NBA schedule. "I don't believe in too many coincidences. It'll be fun. People will enjoy it."

The Heat just went 3-1 on a recent homestand and suffered a 112-95 loss to the red-hot Oklahoma City Thunder and Kevin Durant on Wednesday.

James had 34 points on 12-of-20 shooting for the Heat, who fell to 19-4 at home this year and are 5-5 in their last 10 tilts.

"Other than the first eight minutes of the game they outclassed us tonight," Miami head coach Erik Spoelstra said.

Bosh and Wade scored 18 and 15 points, respectively, for the Heat in the loss. Bosh was named as a reserve for the Eastern Conference All-Star team on Thursday.

Miami will play seven of the next eight games on the road.

New York has won four in a row and recorded a 117-86 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Thursday night.

Anthony scored 29 points and Tim Hardaway, Jr. posted a career-high 29 points for New York. J.R. Smith netted 19 points.

"I think he is playing more relaxed," Knicks head coach Mike Woodson said of Smith. "He is more engaged and in-tune and he is doing what we want from him."

Raymond Felton scored 12 points with nine assists and Tyson Chandler added 11 points with eight rebounds.

New York has won four in a row since losing five straight and is 11-15 at Madison Square Garden.

The Knicks are 4-1 against Miami in the regular season over the past two years and posted a 102-92 victory in this series on Jan. 9 in the Big Apple. The Knicks will visit Miami on Feb. 27 and April 6.
