NBA Game Summary - Charlotte at Philadelphia

(Wednesday, January 15th)

Final Score: Philadelphia 95, Charlotte 92

Philadelphia, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - Thaddeus Young's 3-pointer with 3.9 seconds left lifted the Philadelphia 76ers to a 95-92 win over the Charlotte Bobcats from Wells Fargo Center.

Michael Carter-Williams and Young ran a perfect pick-and-roll that saw Carter- Williams swing it back to Young on the wing, who buried the trey to give the Sixers the lead late.

"I don't know what they were thinking when they both ran to Mike (Carter- Williams) and I was kind of like wide-open," Young said of Charlotte's defense on his go-ahead triple.

Kemba Walker's game-tying attempt from the near corner was off the mark as time expired and the Sixers continued their home dominance over Charlotte, winning their sixth consecutive game against the Bobcats in the City of Brotherly Love.

Philadelphia snapped a four-game losing streak despite committing 24 turnovers.

Evan Turner paced the Sixers with 23 points to go along with seven rebounds, while Carter-Williams added 20 points, eight rebounds and seven assists. Spencer Hawes recorded a double-double of 17 points and 14 rebounds and Young finished with 11 points on 4-of-11 shooting.

Walker led all scorers with 26 points and added eight assists for Charlotte, which dropped its fourth game in the last five.

Al Jefferson netted 24 points for the Bobcats, Ramon Sessions scored 11 off the bench and Josh McRoberts added 10 in defeat.

Charlotte's Gerald Henderson scored just eight points on a paltry 2- for-14 shooting.

"It's frustrating. It's disappointing," Henderson said of dropping another tight tilt. "You fight hard to come back and you just can't come up with the plays to win the game."

The Bobcats led 30-24 early in the second quarter when Philadelphia went on a 17-2 surge. Elliot Williams opened the run with a pair of free throws and Hawes capped it just over four minutes later with a hook shot to help the Sixers to a 41-32 lead.

Hawes pushed the Sixers' margin to 11 following a layup with a minute left in the half, and Walker's three concluded the second-quarter scoring and cut the deficit to 53-45 at the break.

The Sixers held a 72-63 advantage after a Turner layup with 2:01 left in the third quarter, but the Bobcats bridged the third and fourth quarters with a 17-3 run to help them to their first lead since the second quarter.

Sessions scored six points during the sequence, including the final bucket that capped the spurt and give the Bobcats an 80-75 lead with 6:52 to go.

Turner followed with a three before Carter-Williams tied the game at 80-80 with a running jumper midway through the fourth.

The game was tied at 89-89 when Turner drove and made a reverse layup with 2:04 left. Sessions cut the deficit in half by splitting a pair at the line with 1:16 to play.

Carter-Williams then made 1-of-2 from the line to make it a two-point game again.

Coming out of a timeout, Walker made one of his patented step-back jumpers to tie the game at 92-92 with 15.4 seconds left and set up Young's last second heroics.
