Harris' buzzer-beating slam gets Magic past Thunder

Orlando, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Tobias Harris threw down a game-winning, two-handed dunk as time expired, lifting the Orlando Magic to a 103-102 triumph over the Oklahoma City Thunder on Friday at Amway Center.

With Oklahoma City leading by one and less than 30 seconds left, Kevin Durant had a chance to extend the Thunder's edge, but his right-wing jumper was off the mark and Victor Oladipo corralled the rebound.

With time winding down, Oladipo led a fastbreak down the court and dished to Maurice Harkless under the net. Harkless then turned and tossed the ball to a trailing Harris, who hammered home a two-handed slam just before the horn sounded to send the Magic to their second straight victory.

"I was about ready to congratulate Mo (Harkless) for making the layup but he kicked it to me so I was happy it went in," Harris said of the final play. "It all worked out for us."

Harris finished with a team-high 18 points, Arron Afflalo added 16 points and Oladipo and Glen Davis each donated 14 points for the Magic, who trailed by as many as 16 points in the third before rallying for the victory.

Durant registered game-highs of 29 points and 12 assists, while Serge Ibaka supplied 26 points, six rebounds and five blocks for the Thunder, who have lost their last two road games.

"When the game is on the line, you have to do whatever it takes to get that play stopped," Thunder head coach Scott Brooks said. "Give them credit. They played to the last tenth of a second. They deserved to win."

OKC led 65-51 at halftime, but saw its spread whittled down to eight by the end of the third before Orlando opened the final frame with eight straight points to pull even at 88-88 with 9:13 left on the clock.

Durant drained a tough turnaround to put the Thunder back in front, but the Magic responded with five straight points to build a 93-90 edge.

The team's exchanged buckets from there until Reggie Jackson knocked down consecutive jumpers and Durant followed with a pair of makes from the free throw line to make it 99-97 Thunder with 3:29 to play.

Oladipo answered with a layup at the other end to retie the tilt, but after an exchange of empty possessions, Thabo Sefolosha poured in a left corner 3- pointer to give OKC a 102-99 lead with 1:56 remaining.

Afflalo had a chance to tie the game with 55.2 ticks left when he was fouled attempting a triple, but he sandwiched a pair of makes around a miss, leaving Orlando facing a one-point deficit with under a minute to play.

Early on, Durant and Ibaka combined for 31 points over the opening 24 minutes, as the Thunder shot 59.5 percent from the field and went 8-of-12 from the 3- point range in the first half en route to a 14-point advantage at the break.
