NBA Preview from The Sports Network

Wednesday, January 22nd (All times Eastern)

Los Angeles Clippers (29-14) at Charlotte Bobcats (18-25), 7 p.m.

(SportsNetwork.com) - The Los Angeles Clippers continue their long road trip east Wednesday night when they visit The Time Warner Cable Arena to face the Charlotte Bobcats.

The Clips are 2-1 on this sojourn with victories over the New York Knicks and Detroit Pistons. Their lone loss came to the Indiana Pacers and the Clippers will visit Chicago, Toronto and Milwaukee the rest of the way.

LA's most recent victory was Monday afternoon against the Pistons. It was the eighth win in the last 10 for L.A. and the formula is pretty simple for the Clippers - score over 100 points and win, score under 100 points and lose. That's what's happened over the last 10.

Against the Pistons, DeAndre Jordan had 16 points and 21 rebounds, which matched a season-high, as the Clippers defeated the Pistons 112-103 on Monday afternoon.

"I am just trying to do what I can to make our team win, trying to stay active and anchor the defense," Jordan said.

Jamal Crawford netted 26 points, Blake Griffin added 25 and J.J. Redick registered 20 points and six assists for the Clippers, who are 6-2 since losing point guard Chris Paul to a shoulder injury.

Matt Barnes replaced Jared Dudley in the starting lineup Monday. Barnes had 10 points, while Dudley managed seven in a reserve role.

The Bobcats have alternated losses and wins over their last six.

On Monday, Ramon Sessions scored 23 points and Al Jefferson deposited a 22- point, 19-rebound double-double as the Bobcats beat the Toronto Raptors 100-95 from Time Warner Cable Arena.

Gerald Henderson netted 16 points, while Josh McRoberts and Jannero Pargo each contributed 11 points for the Bobcats, who defeated Toronto for the seventh straight time in Charlotte.

The Bobcats built a 30-point lead in the third quarter, but the Raptors fought hard. Kyle Lowry had a chance to tie at the foul line with under 30 seconds left, but missed and Charlotte hung on for victory.

"That's the thing about the NBA, if a team gets going it's hard to stop them, and they got it going in the fourth quarter," said Sessions. "But we had a cushion enough where we were able to keep the lead."

Leading scorer Kemba Walker will still be out of the lineup with a sprained left ankle.

After the tilt with the Clippers, Charlotte will play five of six on the road, including a four-game trip west.

The Clippers have taken six in a row against the Bobcats, including a 27-point drubbing on New Year's Day in L.A. The Clips are 6-3 all-time in Charlotte against the Bobcats with three consecutive victories.
