NBA Preview from The Sports Network

Tuesday, February 4th (All times Eastern)

Charlotte Bobcats (21-28) at Golden State Warriors (29-19), 10:30 p.m.

(SportsNetwork.com) - The Golden State Warriors are in the midst of playing seven of eight games at home and will start a quick residency Tuesday versus the Charlotte Bobcats at Oracle Arena.

The Warriors will also welcome Chicago to town and are 14-8 at home. They are coming off Friday's 95-90 victory at Utah after going 2-3 on a recent stay in Oakland, and used a big night from All-Star guard Steph Curry, who pumped in a season-high 44 points on 14-of-26 shooting and made 8-of-13 3-pointers.

"He's an All-Star starter for a reason. He hit some shots and go in a rhythm. There's not much you can do about it," Jazz guard Alec Burks said of Curry.

Andrew Bogut tallied 16 points, 17 rebounds, five assists and three blocks for the Warriors, who trailed by as many as nine points in the fourth quarter and outscored the Jazz, 29-19, in the final frame.

Klay Thompson added 11 points in the win, Golden State's second in a row and third in four tries since losing four of five contests. It was the back end of a back-to-back for the Warriors.

Golden State is now 22-3 when holding the opposition under 100 points and Warriors head coach Mark Jackson needs one more win to reach 100. Only five coaches have posted 100-plus victories in Warriors history: Alvin Attles, Don Nelson, Ed Gottlieb, George Senesky, Alex Hannum.

In other milestone news, Curry needs 13 assists to reach 2,000 in his career.

Warriors forward David Lee did not play against the Jazz because of a sprained left shoulder and is questionable Tuesday. He is posting an average of 19.1 points and 9.8 rebounds this season.

Charlotte had won two in a row and four of six games until suffering a 105-95 loss at Phoenix on Saturday. The setback dropped the Bobcats to 2-1 on their four-game western swing.

Bobcats forward Al Jefferson, one day after erupting for a career-high 40 points in Los Angeles, was limited to 10 points on 4-of-15 shooting. Anthony Tolliver led the Bobcats with 14 points.

"We didn't come out playing the way we're supposed to play against a team like that," said Jefferson. "We didn't have the energy that we needed, we weren't making shots."

The Bobcats shot only 41.8 percent and sank just 8-of-23 3-pointers. Jannero Pargo (12), Cody Zeller (11), Ramon Sessions (11), Josh McRoberts (11) and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (11) were the other double-digit scorers in defeat.

Charlotte is 10-15 away from home and will return to Time Warner Cable Arena later this week to host both San Antonio and Dallas. In injury news for the Bobcats, guard Ben Gordon is expected to miss Tuesday's game with an illness and hasn't played since Jan. 10 in a loss at Minnesota.

The Bobcats defeated the Warriors, 115-111, on Dec. 9 at home and were led by Kemba Walker's 31 points. Curry tallied 43 points in that one for Golden State, which had won two in a row in this series.

Charlotte has lost five of the eight meetings at Golden State.
