NBA Game Summary - Golden State at Philadelphia

(Monday, November 4th)

Final Score: Golden State 110, Philadelphia 90

Philadelphia, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Philadelphia 76ers were dealt a hard dose of reality Monday.

Andre Iguodala poured in 32 points against his former team behind a personal- best seven 3-pointers, Stephen Curry recorded a triple-double and the Golden State Warriors rolled to a lopsided 110-90 victory over the previously unbeaten Sixers at Wells Fargo Center.

Curry finished with 18 points, 12 assists and 10 rebounds for his second career triple-double and also had five of the team's 18 steals. David Lee and Klay Thompson chipped in 18 and 15 points, respectively, for the Warriors, winners of two straight since falling to the Clippers.

Evan Turner and Michael Carter-Williams both netted 18 points in the loss, though it took the latter 17 shots to earn his total on the day the rookie was named Eastern Conference Player of the Week.

Philadelphia raced out to an improbable 3-0 start by beating the defending- champion Heat in the season opener, downing the Wizards in the nation's capital and rallying from 20 points down against the Bulls last Saturday.

Another comeback against one of the premier shooting teams in the league proved an impossible task.

The Sixers found themselves in an early hole when Iguodala capped an 18-0 Warriors run with an alley-oop dunk with 4:40 left in the opening quarter.

"We understood with the way they started the season it was important for us to match their effort," Warriors head coach Mark Jackson said. "We got it going offensively and made a statement early."

The hosts trailed 36-22 heading to the second and had the deficit down to six, 43-37, following Turner's baseline jumper near the midway point of the frame.

Golden State, however, scored 23 of the next 28 points to pull away.

Iguodala, who played his first eight seasons in Philadelphia, finished the half with six 3-pointers and 27 points. He missed a dunk in the closing seconds, but Lee was there for the putback to give the Warriors a healthy 66-42 cushion at the break.

Wanting to put the game out of reach, Golden State kept its foot on the gas coming out of the locker room. Curry erupted for eight points in the first 1:13, and a Thompson 3-pointer extended the lead to 77-44 just over three minutes in.

"They were clicking on all cylinders," Turner said of the Warriors. "It was a great night for them."

With the difference an insurmountable 98-65 after three quarters of play, both teams emptied their bench for the final 12 minutes.
