Iguodala's 3 lifts Warriors past Hawks

Atlanta, GA (SportsNetwork.com) - Scoreless through three quarters, Andre Iguodala saved his best for last again.

Iguodala nailed a game-winning 3-pointer at the buzzer and the Golden State Warriors won their eighth straight game following a 101-100 triumph over the Atlanta Hawks.

His shot wiped away a 15-point fourth-quarter deficit.

"Another one in the bank, a quality win for us. I believe that's our fourth win when we were down at least 15 points," Warriors head coach Mark Jackson said. "They showed tremendous resilience and competitive spirit."

It was Iguodala's NBA-leading fifth career buzzer-beater since he came into the league during the 2004-05 season. Iguodala had a buzzer-beater earlier this season against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Iguodala attempted just one shot through the first three frames, but netted seven points in the fourth. Stephen Curry had 22 points, nine assists and eight rebounds and Klay Thompson added 21 points and six assists for the Warriors, who haven't lost since falling at home to the San Antonio Spurs on Dec. 19.

Pero Antic tallied 16 points and seven boards for Atlanta, which has dropped two of its last three.

"We followed the gameplan," Antic said. "At the end, we just lost the game."

Golden State trailed 91-76 after Antic hit a 3-pointer with 6:48 left, but the Warriors answered with an 11-2 run. Curry had seven points during the surge, including a triple to cap it and pull the visitors within 93-87 with 5:05 to play.

A bit later, Iguodala's putback dunk, a Harrison Barnes 3 and Curry's fastbreak layup on three straight Golden State trips down the floor put the Warriors in front, 96-95, with 2:12 left.

Atlanta put in the next five. Paul Millsap sank a pair of free throws and knocked down a jumper before Jeff Teague split a pair from the line with 32.3 ticks on the clock to stake the hosts a 100-96 cushion.

Curry's bucket made it a one-possession contest with 29.3 seconds showing. Golden State elected to play out the ensuing Atlanta possession instead of fouling and Millsap misfired with 3.9 seconds left.

Following a timeout, Iguodala inbounded the ball to Curry, who was double- teamed around midcourt. The inbounder Iguodala was left free along the left wing and he knocked down the uncontested shot.

The Warriors led 24-21 after a quarter of play, but the game was tied at 46-46 heading into the break.

Atlanta outscored Golden State 26-18 in the third and took a 72-64 spread into the fourth.

Game Notes

Golden State shot 44.8 percent (39-of-87) from the floor, but just 22.2 percent (6-of-27) from beyond the arc ... The Hawks scored 22 points off 21 Warriors turnovers.
