NBA Preview from The Sports Network

Monday, November 11th (All times Eastern)

Minnesota Timberwolves (5-2) at Los Angeles Clippers (4-3), 10:30 p.m.

(SportsNetwork.com) - The Los Angeles Clippers have a good shot at continuing their home winning streak when the Minnesota Timberwolves pay another visit to Staples Center Monday night.

The Clippers have won six in a row at home during the regular season, going 2-0 this season, and are unbeaten in the past five meetings with Minnesota. The Clippers won all four meetings with the Timberwolves last season and have a 6-2 mark in the previous eight matchups as the host.

Los Angeles ended a two-game slide its last time out in a 107-94 victory against the Houston Rockets on Saturday in the finale of a three-game road trip (1-2). The game was tight throughout until the Clips recorded a 34-23 advantage in the fourth quarter and both Blake Griffin and J.J. Redick scored 22 points. DeAndre Jordan added 12 points and 18 rebounds, while Chris Paul posted 14 points and 13 assists.

Jordan owns 96 boards in seven games and has grabbed 17 or more three times already this season. He did that only four times in his past five seasons combined.

The Clippers outscored the Rockets by a 40-18 margin to turn a 12-point third- quarter deficit into a 95-85 lead with 3:45 left to play.

"It started on defense and we got stops defensively and we had a lot of energy on defense and that helped our offense run," Griffin said of the team's comeback. "This was good for us and we'll take wins like this especially on the end of this road trip."

Paul has posted a double-double in each of the first seven games this season and eight in a row dating back to last season. His personal high is 12 games.

The Clippers, who won 13 in a row at home last season, will play four straight at Staples Center versus Minnesota, Oklahoma City, Brooklyn and Memphis.

Minnesota has won back-to-back contests and will close out its tour through Hollywood Monday night. In Sunday's 113-90 victory over the Lakers, Kevin Love continued his torrid pace with 25 points and 13 rebounds, and is second in the NBA in scoring with 26.9 ppg. He is also first in rebounds (14.4 rpg).

Kevin Martin and Corey Brewer scored 27 and 17 points, respectively, and Nikola Pekovic ended with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Ricky Rubio chipped in 12 points and handed out 14 assists for Minnesota, which shot 48.9 percent for the game and made 10-of-20 3-pointers.

The Wolves set the tone early with a 47-23 advantage after 12 minutes and finally halted a 22-game skid to the Lakers. They had not beaten L.A. since March 6, 2007 and recorded their first win over the Lakers at Staples Center in nearly eight years.

"We had lost so many to the Lakers. We were due for one," Love said.

The Timberwolves had not won in LA since Dec. 2, 2005, a string of 13 straight losses.
