NBA Game Summary - Indiana at Charlotte

(Wednesday, November 27th)

Final Score: Indiana 99, Charlotte 74

Charlotte, NC (SportsNetwork.com) - C.J. Watson scored 15 of his team-high 18 points in the fourth quarter, including 5-of-6 shooting from beyond the arc in the final frame to lead the Indiana Pacers to a 99-74 rout of the Charlotte Bobcats.

Paul George and Lance Stephenson each had 15 points, while Roy Hibbert scored 14 points with 10 rebounds for Indiana, which won its fourth consecutive game over Charlotte. Stephenson also had 10 boards for the Pacers, who have won five in a row overall and 13 of the last 14 against the Bobcats.

Al Jefferson scored 16 points with nine rebounds, Kemba Walker netted 15, and Gerald Henderson added 10 points in the loss. Charlotte has now lost three straight at home and six of its last seven at Time Warner Cable Arena.

"I'm very proud of the effort," said Indiana head coach Frank Vogel. "C.J. Watson was the star of the game tonight. His performance off the bench hitting six 3s really broke open the game."

The game was relatively close throughout the first three quarters until the Pacers erupted in the final stanza, outscoring the hosts 39-22 over the final 12 minutes.

Bismack Biyombo made a layup to close the Bobcats within 60-54 to start the fourth quarter, but Indiana then went on a 9-1 run, capped by back-to-back threes from Watson to give the Pacers a 69-55 lead.

Charlotte cut the lead to single-digits after a Walker 3-pointer, and once again, the Pacers answered with a 10-2 run thanks to another pair of 3- pointers from Watson. The Pacers led 79-62 with 6:45 to go and built their lead to as many as 27 in the closing minutes.

Walker tied the game, 7-7, with a trey early in the first quarter and like most of the night, Indiana answered with a run. The Pacers went on a 12-2 spurt to take a 19-9 lead with 2:36 left in the first.

Hibbert sank a tip shot to begin the rally and then made a 3-point play the following possession. The big-man had 7-of-12 points during the run.

Indiana limited Charlotte to 4-of-22 (18 percent) shooting from the field in the first to lead 22-11 after one.

Charlotte tightened things up in the second quarter and closed to within five at halftime, trailing 43-38.

"They're so good and so big, we didn't get any easy ones tonight," said Charlotte head coach Steve Clifford.

A Jefferson jumper at 5:58 of the third had the Bobcats within 51-46, but Indiana went on an 8-0 run with six of eight points coming at the line.
