NBA Game Summary - LA Clippers at Oklahoma City

(Sunday, February 23rd)

Final Score: LA Clippers 125, Oklahoma City 117

Oklahoma City, OK (SportsNetwork.com) - Jamal Crawford scored 36 points on 5-of-8 shooting from beyond the arc and the Los Angeles Clippers beat the Oklahoma City Thunder, 125-117, on Sunday.

Matt Barnes deposited 24 points and Blake Griffin had 20 points with seven rebounds and six assists for the Clippers, who snapped a two-game losing streak overall as well as a two-game skid in Oklahoma City.

Chris Paul contributed an 18-point, 12-assist double-double and DeAndre Jordan finished with 18 points and 12 rebounds in the win.

"It's definitely a good win for us," said Paul. "We were on the plane yesterday flying here and we were talking about how we hadn't beat any good teams on the road. You know, any really good teams. This would be the perfect time to start."

Kevin Durant's 42-point, 10-assist effort was all for naught as the Thunder dropped two straight at Chesapeake Energy Arena for the second time this season and just the third time since the beginning of the 2011-12 season.

Serge Ibaka tallied 20 points and Derek Fisher went 5-for-7 from beyond the arc, finishing with 15 points in the setback.

Los Angeles led by a game-high 15 late in the third quarter, but Fisher made back-to-back 3s around a Paul layup and Durant nailed a triple with 1.6 seconds left to close within six, 99-93, heading to the fourth.

Oklahoma City cut the deficit to one early in the fourth after Fisher buried another trey and Jeremy Lamb made a pair of free throws.

Russell Westbrook, who finished with 13 points on 3-of-13 shooting in just his second game back from his nagging right knee injury, made two from the line and tied the game at 109-apiece with just under 5 1/2 minutes remaining in the game.

Durant followed a Westbrook triple with a 3 of his own to give the Thunder their first lead, 115-112, since there was 1:52 remaining in the second quarter.

From there, Paul and Griffin made two free throws each, then Crawford splashed down a 3 to give the Clippers a 119-115 lead with 1 1/2 minutes to play.

Durant answered with a layup, but Crawford was the man down the stretch for LA, as he made a tough jumper that rattled in to make it a two-possession game and ultimately seal it for the visitors.

"It's obvious we have to get back to playing defensive basketball," said Thunder head coach Scott Brooks. "We're a very good defensive team, but we didn't play that tonight. We gave up 44 points in a quarter and that's usually at times a half."

Barnes hit two 3-pointers around a Durant jumper to open the game for LA as the Clippers jumped out to a 12-2 lead early on. Jordan capped the opening sequence with a pair of dunks, including an alley-oop from Griffin with just over nine minutes left in the first.

Oklahoma City used a 9-0 run later in the quarter to grab a 21-19 lead after Thabo Sefolosha ended the spurt with a triple.

Durant made a free throw after Clippers head coach Doc Rivers was called for a technical foul and he then followed with two more at the line to give the Thunder a 32-28 lead after one quarter of play.

Los Angeles got going in the second stanza by shooting a blistering 16-of-21 (76.2 percent) from the floor to take a 72-66 lead at the break.

A Durant dunk broke a 59-59 tie with 2:11 remaining in the half and the Clippers proceeded to outscore Oklahoma City 13-5.

Game Notes

Sefolosha scored 10 points in defeat ... Oklahoma City's bench outscored LA's 31-9 ... LA owned a 44-37 edge on the glass ... The Thunder's largest lead was eight ... OKC had a 48-36 advantage in points in the paint, but LA outscored OKC 34-17 on the fastbreak.
