NBA Game Summary - Philadelphia at Charlotte

(Friday, December 6th)

Final Score: Charlotte 105, Philadelphia 88

Charlotte, NC (SportsNetwork.com) - Jeff Taylor scored 20 points starting in place of Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and Kemba Walker contributed 18 points with 10 assists as the Charlotte Bobcats defeated the Philadelphia 76ers, 105-88, at Times Warner Cable Arena.

Gerald Henderson also added 18 points, while Al Jefferson recorded his fourth straight double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds.

Tony Wroten scored a game-high 21 points with nine assists and eight rebounds. Wroten started in place of Michael Carter-Williams who was out with right knee soreness.

Evan Turner chipped in with 16 points on 7-of-18 shooting and Hollis Thompson added 12 for the Sixers, who lost their eight consecutive road game.

"We were playing really well on offense," said Taylor. "We were getting easy buckets, dunks, open shots. We definitely felt good on offense all night."

Charlotte pulled away midway through the fourth as the Bobcats used a 7-0 run to grab their largest lead of the game. Jefferson capped the run with a jumper for a 98-80 advantage.

The Sixers went a span of 4:42 in the fourth without a basket as the Bobcats continued to pound it inside.

Jefferson came out of the break with two straight baskets that gave the Bobcats their biggest lead to that point, 66-51.

"We know our sickness, we know what our weakness is," said Philadelphia head coach Brett Brown of his team's defense. "Some of it is the way we play, some of it is individual attention to defense. It's a concern no matter who we play when they roll out those types of numbers in the first half."

Following a Wroten layup midway through the third to cut the deficit back to 10, Jefferson retrieved his own miss and was blocked by Young on his second attempt, but gathered another offensive rebound and barreled his way to the cup for the layup.

Charlotte opened the second on a 10-1 spurt that pushed the lead to 46-34 after a Henderson jumper with 8:51 left and the Sixers cut the deficit to as little as eight, but still trailed by double-digits at the break.

The Sixers led by as many as eight in the first quarter after a Hawes 3- pointer, but the Bobcats ended the final 3:34 of the stanza on a 16-8 run to take a 36-33 lead.
