NBA Game Summary - Golden State at Dallas

(Wednesday, November 27th)

Final Score: Dallas 103, Golden State 99

Dallas, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - Dirk Nowitzki led six Dallas scorers in double figures with 22 points to guide the Mavericks to a 103-99 win over the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday.

Jose Calderon and Jae Crowder finished with 12 point apiece while Shawn Marion, Samuel Dalembert and DeJuan Blair each scored 11 for the Mavericks, who improved to 8-1 at American Airlines Center.

Stephen Curry had 29 points and eight assists while David Lee and Klay Thompson both turned in double-doubles for the Warriors, who have dropped four of five.

Lee had 20 points and 12 rebounds and Thompson finished with 20 points and 10 boards.

"In a game like this, where you've got guys on the other team that can do skill-wise what these guys can do, you've got to take care of the ball," said Dallas coach Rick Carlisle. "It was important. Down the stretch it was a wild scramble to get the last couple of stops so we could put it away."

Dallas led by eight after a Calderon 3-pointer at the 6:16 mark of the first. The Warriors stayed within two possession until a Marion slam, but Curry drained a jumper at the horn to cut it to 28-22 after 12 minutes.

The Mavs lead swelled to 17 after Monta Ellis' layup, but the Warriors closed the half on a 10-2 run to get within 55-46 at the break.

Dalembert knocked down a pair of free throws early in the third to make it 59-48. The Warriors managed to pull within 59-55 after Curry's 3-ball at the 8:05 mark, but Dallas managed to push its lead back to double figures after Shane Larkin's buzzer beater made it 82-71.

The Mavs led 99-82 after Blair stripped Thompson and took it the length of the floor for a layup, but Golden State didn't go down without a fight.

Thompson knocked down a triple from the right wing to pull the Warriors within six and Curry nailed a tough jumper with just over 2 1/2 minutes showing to make it 99-95, but Dallas managed to hold off the late scoring barrage to seal the win.

"You could tell in the fourth quarter that we picked it up tremendously. In a back-to-back for us to play that hard in the last quarter in a back-to-back it's frustrating," said Curry. "We need to figure out how to come out stronger, better, and more consistent in the first half. Not have any lows, especially on the road, it's tough to make that run if you have to keep doing it over and over again."

Game Notes

Dallas outscored the Warriors by a 42-32 margin in the paint ... The Mavs scored 30 points off 19 Golden State turnovers ... Dallas committed just six turnovers ... Andre Bogut had eight points and 10 rebounds in the setback.
