NBA Preview from The Sports Network

Sunday, February 9th (All times Eastern)

Indiana Pacers (39-10) at Orlando Magic (15-37), 6 p.m.

(SportsNetwork.com) - The Eastern Conference-leading Indiana Pacers had their mettle tested the last time out and look to keep the momentum going Sunday on the road against the Orlando Magic.

Indiana rallied from an 89-81 deficit with 10 straight points in the fourth quarter of Friday's 118-113 overtime victory over the Portland Trail Blazers and posted 15 of the 25 points in the extra session.

But before the home crowd tasted victory, the Pacers trailed 103-100 with 22.7 seconds remaining in regulation and George Hill sank a 3-pointer to tie the game. A 10-3 run by Indiana in OT lifted the team to its fourth straight win and 19th in the last 24 tries.

Hill finished with 37 points on 12-of-19 shooting, David West added 30 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, and Paul George chipped in 17 points, seven assists and six rebounds for the Pacers, who shot 45.7 percent from the field and need one more win to become just the second team to reach 40 victories (Thunder).

Pacers head coach Frank Vogel liked what he saw from West.

"You could just see the look in David West's eyes tonight," said Vogel, who earned the 150th win of his career. "His will just carried us to victory."

Indiana is 15-8 on the road this season and will return home to begin a three- game residency Monday versus Denver, Dallas and Atlanta. The Pacers are allowing an NBA-low 90.7 points per game this season and opponents are shooting 41.4 percent against them.

The Pacers are 23-0 when allowing less than 90 points.

In injury news for the Pacers, guard Lance Stephenson did not play Friday because of a back and hip issue, and is questionable Sunday. He has posted double-doubles in seven of his last 10 games, and needs six points for 1,500 in his career.

Orlando is coming off an improbable 103-102 victory over Kevin Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder on Friday. Tobias Harris' dunk at the buzzer lifted the Magic to a 2-0 mark on a four-game homestand and their third win in five tries. Harris finished a 3-on-1 break with a jam as time expired.

"I was about ready to congratulate Mo (Harkless) for making the layup but he kicked it to me so I was happy it went in," Harris said of the final play. "It all worked out for us."

Harris finished with a team-high 18 points, Arron Afflalo added 16 points and Victor Oladipo and Glen Davis each netted 14 points for the Magic, who trailed by as many as 17 points before rallying for the victory.

The Magic have won four in a row at home and have a 12-14 mark at Amway Center. They will end the homestand Wednesday versus Memphis.

Orlando has lost the first two meetings of the season with Indiana and is winless in the last four encounters between the teams. The Pacers have struggled recently in central Florida, losing eight of 10 and 11 of their previous 15 trips there.
