NBA Preview from The Sports Network

Saturday, February 1st (All times Eastern)

Oklahoma City Thunder (38-10) at Washington Wizards (22-23), 7 p.m.

(SportsNetwork.com) - Kevin Durant's 30-point scoring streak may have ended, but the Oklahoma City Thunder's winning streak is intact and it will be on the line Saturday night when they complete a short road trip in Washington against the Wizards.

Oklahoma City earned its 10th consecutive victory Friday night with a 120-95 drubbing of the Brooklyn Nets at the Barclays Center. During this awesome run, the Thunder have scored over 100 points in all 10, and held the opponent under 100 seven times.

The streak that fell was Durant's run of 30-plus point scoring games. That ended at 12 as he finished with 26 points and seven assists, completing January as the first player since Michael Jordan in March of 1987 to record at least 550 points and 90 assists in a month.

Durant scored 22 points on 8-of-9 shooting in the first half but put up just three shots the rest of the way, sitting the entire fourth quarter with the game well in hand.

"I guess you can say that in the last 12 or 13 games, I'm the only one who can stop him from scoring 30," joked OKC head coach Scott Brooks.

Serge Ibaka shot 12-of-12 from the floor for 25 points, falling just two shots shy of Gary Payton's Thunder/SuperSonics franchise record of 14 shots without a miss set on Jan. 5, 2005.

Reggie Jackson and Thabo Sefolosha added 14 points apiece for Oklahoma City. The Thunder shot a sizzling 63.6 percent from the floor and outrebounded Brooklyn 41-17.

The Nets' 17 rebounds set an NBA record for fewest in a single game.

The Wizards returned home from a four-game western trip with a record of 2-2. They play five straight in D.C., but the first three are against Oklahoma City, Portland and San Antonio, three of the five best teams in the NBA.

On Wednesday, the Wizards fell to the Los Angeles Clippers, 110-103.

Bradley Beal scored 20 points and John Wall, who was named as a reserve for the Eastern Conference All-Star team on Thursday, added 19 points and 11 assists for the Wizards, who are 4-4 over their last eight games.

Nene added 14 points, followed by 13 from Trevor Ariza and 10 off the bench from Kevin Seraphin.

The Wizards started the third quarter down seven, but pulled within 100-99 with three minutes left before Los Angeles used an 8-0 burst to go up 108-99.

"I wasn't happy with our defense in the first half, then we got things going," Wizards head coach Randy Wittman said.

Washington shot 51.1 percent from the field, but just 13.6 percent from long range. The Wiz forced 19 Clippers turnovers.

The Thunder beat the Wizards by a single point in overtime in Oklahoma City on Nov. 10. They've won two straight and seven of the last nine meetings between the two teams.

The Wizards have won two in a row against the Thunder in Washington.
