NBA Preview from The Sports Network

Sunday, November 17th (All times Eastern)

Memphis Grizzlies (4-5) at Sacramento Kings (2-6), 6 p.m.

(SportsNetwork.com) - The Memphis Grizzlies started their western trip in style and will try to keep the momentum when they visit the Sacramento Kings on Sunday.

The Grizzlies began their sojourn with an 89-86 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers at Staples Center Friday night. That win snapped a two-game losing streak.

Memphis overcame a three-point deficit to start the final quarter. The Grizzlies got the victory despite going 1-for-13 from long range for a staggeringly-low 7.7 percent.

Zach Randolph had his best game of the season against the Lakers with 28 points on 11-for-18 shooting. He also grabbed 11 rebounds.

"I tried to be aggressive and let it come to me and pick my spots. When it comes to me I'll be ready," Randolph said.

Marc Gasol, the reigning Defensive Player of the Year, scored eight points, pulled down eight boards and handed out eight assists. He also had three steals and three blocks.

Tony Allen and Mike Conley also scored in double figures.

The Grizzlies will also visit the Los Angeles Clippers and Golden State Warriors before heading home.

The Kings halted a five-game losing streak with a win over the visiting Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday, but immediately returned to the loss column with a 97-90 setback to the Detroit Pistons on Friday.

Sacramento shot 40 percent from long range in the loss, but the Kings committed 17 turnovers, which led to 22 Detroit points.

"I think we had the effort, we played hard but we just didn't execute," said backup point guard Isaiah Thomas. "We didn't take care of the ball, they got a lot of fast break points."

DeMarcus Cousins paced the Kings with 26 points and 13 rebounds. He also blocked three shots. Thomas had 18 points off the bench and Greivis Vasquez managed 13 points, but committed eight turnovers.

The Kings rank ninth in the NBA in opponents' scoring, but come in 25th in scoring.

The Grizzlies swept all four meetings last season and have taken eight of the last nine and 11 of the last 13 against the Kings. Memphis is 4-2 in its last six in Sacramento.
