Final Score: Brooklyn 94, Toronto 87

Toronto, ON (SportsNetwork.com) - Paul Pierce and the veteran-laden Brooklyn Nets took over down the stretch to gain the upper hand in their Eastern Conference quarterfinal series with the Toronto Raptors, coming through with a 94-87 Game 1 victory at a raucous Air Canada Centre. Pierce scored nine of his 15 points in the final three minutes, part of a 19-11 game-ending run that put away the upstart Raptors in their first playoff game since 2008. Joe Johnson and Deron Williams contributed 24 apiece to help Brooklyn draw first blood in a contentious series that became more heated after Raptors general manager Masai Ujiri made disparaging remarks towards the Nets during a pregame rally outside Air Canada Centre. The third-seeded and Atlantic Division champion Raptors received 22 points and eight assists from Kyle Lowry and a 17-point, 18-rebound effort out of Jonas Valanciunas, but shot just 39.4 percent from the field and committed 17 turnovers. DeMar DeRozan, Toronto's leading scorer during the regular season, finished with 14 points but went 3-of-13 from the floor. The Raptors will attempt to even the series when Game 2 takes place Tuesday in Toronto.

Final Score: Golden State 109, LA Clippers 105

Los Angeles, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Klay Thompson tallied 22 points and seven rebounds and despite horrid foul shooting down the stretch from both teams, the Golden State Warriors stole home-court advantage from the Los Angeles Clippers with a 109-105 win in Game 1 of the Western Conference quarterfinal series from Staples Center. The sixth-seeded Warriors led for the majority of the second half, but two timely Chris Paul 3-pointers pulled the host Clippers back. His second trey in a 72-second window late in the fourth tied the score at 102-102. It was knotted at 105-105 when Golden State's Draymond Green worked his way to the free throw line with 24 seconds left and made both. The Clippers used their final timeout and put the ball in their All-Star Paul's hands, but a hard double team forced Paul to lose it out-of-bounds. After initially ruling Clippers' ball, officials went to the monitors and quickly overturned the call, handing it back to Golden State. Harrison Barnes then made 1-of-2 from the stripe, leaving the door open for Los Angeles, but Paul was intentionally fouled and the 86 percent career foul shooter missed both. Green could have put the game away, but he too missed two free throws with 6.8 seconds to play. On the second miss, the Clippers' Darren Collison chased down the rebound and stepped out of bounds. Thompson then took his turn at the stripe and made 1-of-2, sealing the outcome. The loss broke LA's three-game home winning streak against the Warriors, who were returning to the postseason after missing out last season.

Final Score: Atlanta 101, Indiana 93

Indianapolis, IN (SportsNetwork.com) - Indianapolis native Jeff Teague enjoyed his playoff homecoming, scoring 28 points with five assists to lead the Atlanta Hawks to a surprising 101-93 win over the top-seeded Indiana Pacers in Game 1 of this Eastern Conference quarterfinal series. Teague had 14 of his game-high 28 points in the third quarter, which Atlanta dominated from start to finish to pull away after the teams played to a draw in the first half. The Hawks outscored Indiana 30-16 in the period. Paul Millsap scored 25 points for the eighth-seeded Hawks, who are in the postseason for the seventh straight season. DeMarre Carroll and Kyle Korver donated 12 points apiece. The game featured two teams trending in opposite directions. The Hawks went into the playoffs with a 7-3 record in their final 10 regular- season games, while Indiana limped in with a 4-6 mark. Paul George had 24 points and 10 rebounds for Indiana, while Lance Stephenson scored 19 points and George Hill added 12. Game 2 is Tuesday in Indianapolis.

Final Score: Oklahoma City 100, Memphis 86

Oklahoma City, OK (SportsNetwork.com) - Kevin Durant finished with 33 points, eight rebounds and seven assists to lead the Oklahoma City Thunder to a 100-86 win over the Memphis Grizzlies in Game 1 of this Western Conference quarterfinal series. The Thunder dominated the first half and led by 22 at break, but saw their lead shrink to just two points, 74-72, following Mike Miller's 3-pointer with 8:46 to go. Durant found Serge Ibaka under the basket for a 3-point play on the other end to spark a 13-1 run that essentially sealed the win for Oklahoma City. Durant scored 13 points on 5-of-6 shooting over the final 12 minutes. Russell Westbrook added 23 points, 10 rebounds and five assists and Ibaka had 17 points, nine rebounds and four blocks in the win. The Thunder outscored the Grizzlies 32-13 in transition, despite forcing just six turnovers. Zach Randolph paced the Grizzlies with 21 points and 11 rebounds while Mike Conley and Marc Gasol finished with 16 points apiece. Conley added 11 assists in the setback. Memphis small forward Tayshaun Prince played just 4 1/2 minutes before he left due to an illness. Game 2 is in Oklahoma City on Monday.
