NBA Game Summary - Sacramento at Philadelphia

(Wednesday, March 12th)

Final Score: Sacramento 115, Philadelphia 98

Philadelphia, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - Rudy Gay had 27 points and seven rebounds to lead the Sacramento Kings to a 115-98 win over the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday.

Gay lived at the free-throw line, making a career-high 16 foul shots on a career-best 19 attempts.

Isaiah Thomas tallied 20 points with six assists and DeMarcus Cousins recorded a 19-point, 12-rebound double-double for Sacramento, which snapped a three- game losing streak.

Ben McLemore finished with 15 points while Jason Thompson -- who is from nearby Camden, N.J. -- contributed 14 points off the bench in the win.

"I thought we defended at a much better level in the second half," said Kings coach Michael Malone. "When we defend like that and rebound, we can get out and run."

The Sixers, meanwhile, remained mired in their longest losing streak in over 40 years.

Henry Sims set a career-high with 20 points to go along with 10 rebounds and James Anderson and Thaddeus Young had 17 and 16 points, respectively, in Philadelphia's 18th straight loss.

It's the franchise's longest losing streak since a record 20-game skid in 1972-73. The Sixers host Eastern Conference-leading Indiana on Friday. They have lost a franchise-record 14 in a row at home.

"We missed a lot of shots, right at the rim, and it gets deflating," said Sixers coach Brett Brown. "Inch by inch the game got away from us."

A 13-3 run helped the Sixers race out to a 16-7 lead midway through the first quarter but Gay scored 11 points during a 16-4 spurt to give Sacramento a 23-20 edge.

The Kings led 28-24 after one and the four-point lead held at the half, with each team scoring 30 in the second quarter.

Leading 74-67 midway through the third quarter, the Kings outscored the hosts 16-9 over the final 5:20 of the period to double the margin to 90-76 heading into the fourth.

Thompson made two baskets before Travis Outlaw knocked down a 3-pointer to push the spread to 97-78 with just under 10 minutes left.

The lead grew to as many as 22 as the Kings won it going away.
