NBA Game Summary - LA Lakers at Orlando

(Friday, January 24th)

Final Score: Orlando 114, LA Lakers 105

Orlando, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Tobias Harris had 28 points and a career- high 20 rebounds and the Orlando Magic beat the Los Angeles Lakers 114-105 on Friday night for just their second win in 14 games.

Arron Afflalo scored 23 points and Jameer Nelson had 22 for the Magic, who snapped a two-game losing streak and won for only the second time since Dec. 29.

"We just have to build on it," said Victor Oladipo, who scored 15 points with a career-high 12 rebounds for Orlando.

Dwight Howard's two former teams came into the game with four wins between them in their last 30 combined outings.

The Lakers suffered their third straight loss, falling to 3-15 in their last 18 and to 2-4 on a seven-game road trip that ends Sunday in New York.

Pau Gasol scored 21 points with 11 rebounds to lead Los Angeles and Kendall Marshall had 19 points and 14 assists.

Afflalo and Nelson combined to score 22 points in the third quarter and the Magic shot 60 percent, making two big runs to take the lead.

They used a 16-3 run to erase a 10-point deficit and later scored the final 14 points of the quarter to carry a 91-80 lead into the fourth. Nelson scored six points during the first run and sparked the second with a 3-pointer.

"I thought we ran out of gas," said Lakers coach Mike D'Antoni. "The guys wanted to do it, but they didn't have the legs. It just happened. We gotta move forward. We have to be a little smarter on how we contest shots."

Los Angeles was never closer than five in the fourth quarter. Nelson sealed the win with a three from the right side that pushed Orlando's lead to 10 with 1:05 remaining.

The Lakers led by as many as eight points in the first quarter. They were up by six after Nick Young's 3-pointer with 3.9 seconds left but Afflalo dribbled the length of the court for a layup that got the Magic within 32-28 going into the second quarter.

Five Magic players scored during a 13-0 run in the second quarter that gave them a five-point lead, but the Lakers came back to take a 55-53 edge into halftime.
