Cousins and Kings beat up Magic

Sacramento, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - DeMarcus Cousins recorded his ninth straight double-double with 24 points and 14 rebounds to lead the Sacramento Kings to a 103-83 win over the Orlando Magic from Sleep Train Arena.

Rudy Gay also had a double-double with 22 points and 10 boards for Sacramento, which won back-to-back home games for the first time since March.

Derrick Williams and Jason Thompson each tallied 14 points, while Jimmer Fredette added 11 points off the bench.

"I thought our starting frontline was terrific tonight," said Kings coach Mike Malone. "I was very impressed with Derrick Williams."

Tobias Harris led Orlando with 16 points and Glen Davis deposited a 12-point, 12-rebound double-double in the Magic's sixth straight loss.

"The shots weren't falling, but at the same time we still have to defend and be able to hold down that floor," Harris said. "I'll give them the credit, they made a lot of tough shots and their offense was clicking and rolling."

A pair of free throws from Isaiah Thomas midway through the third quarter closed a 22-6 run and help the Kings to a 68-51 lead.

The 17-point advantage would be Sacramento's largest of the third quarter before Orlando scored the final five points of the frame to pull to 76-64 heading into the fourth.

Victor Oladipo trimmed the dificit to 10 with a jumper at 7:09 of the fourth when the Kings put the game away with a 12-0 run.

Williams scored six points during the spurt, including a thunderous two-handed windmill dunk to cap it and increase the cushion to 97-75 with 4:22 left.

Earlier, Gay capped an 8-0 run with a jumper with just under seven minutes left in the first quarter to give the Kings a 14-8 lead. The Magic, though, ended the quarter on 16-4 run for a 24-18 advantage heading to the second.

Jameer Nelson, Andrew Nicholson, and Oladipo all hit 3s in succession during the run before Arron Afflalo knocked down a jumper to close the scoring in the opening frame.

Sacramento grabbed the a 46-40 lead at the half.
