NBA Preview from The Sports Network

Saturday, November 9th (All times Eastern)

Orlando Magic (3-3) at Atlanta Hawks (2-3), 7:30 p.m.

(SportsNetwork.com) - The Atlanta Hawks return home from a western road trip Saturday night when they host the Orlando Magic, a team they've dominated in recent history.

The Hawks have taken 10 straight over the Magic dating back to November of 2010.

Atlanta went 1-2 on a quick jaunt to the other coast. They finished with a 109-107 loss to the Denver Nuggets on Thursday, which was the first victory of the season for the Nuggets.

The Hawks had plenty of chances to pull out the victory, but couldn't get it done late. Atlanta was down two with eight seconds left and Paul Millsap's turnaround jumper missed. Al Horford got the rebound, but couldn't convert, giving the Hawks a third loss.

"I had a smaller guy on me so I figured I could shoot over the top of him," said Millsap. "I knew it would be difficult to get to the basket. I settled for my step-back jump shot. I felt like it was a good shot, it didn't go in."

Millsap had a big night with 29 points and 10 rebounds. Horford had 21 points, followed by 16 from Kyle Korver, 14 points and 11 assists from Jeff Teague and 10 from DeMarre Carroll.

The Magic fell 91-89 to the Boston Celtics on Friday night in Orlando to snap a three-game winning streak.

Arron Afflalo led the way for the Magic with 23 points. Nikola Vucevic managed 14 points and 13 rebounds, but only two of those points came after the first quarter.

"They did a good job of taking away my post-ups," said Vucevic. "In the first quarter I was able to get some post-ups and pick-and-rolls and they took those away."

Jameer Nelson was the only other Magic player in double figures on Friday. He had 12 points and Andrew Nicholson pulled down 11 rebounds off the bench.

The Magic committed 20 turnovers, which led to 25 Celtics points. Boston only had 11 turnovers and Orlando converted those into just eight points.

The Magic haven't won in Atlanta since Nov. 26, 2009.
