NBA Preview from The Sports Network

Wednesday, November 27th (All times Eastern)

San Antonio Spurs (13-1) at Oklahoma City Thunder (9-3), 8 p.m.

(SportsNetwork.com) - The San Antonio Spurs face their toughest challenge during this 11-game winning streak Wednesday night when they visit the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The Spurs haven't lost since a Nov. 2 setback in Portland. They share the best record in the league with the Indiana Pacers, who are also in action on Wednesday.

San Antonio has taken five straight road contests, but the Thunder are in a different league than the Denver Nuggets, New York Knicks, Philadelphia 76ers, Utah Jazz and even Memphis Grizzlies.

"We match up with every team in this league," said Thunder head coach Scott Brooks. "We have flexibility. We can go small, we can go big, we can play fast and we can slow it down."

So can the Spurs, who are just one of three teams (Miami and Portland) who rank in the top 10 in the NBA in both scoring and opponents' scoring.

The Spurs collected their 13th win of the season on Monday with a 112-93 home clobbering of the New Orleans Pelicans. The Spurs were ahead by 17 at the half and 26 after three quarters.

"We played good D, and we made shots at the same time. That's a good combination," Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich said.

Seven Spurs scored in double figures against the Pelicans, led by 16 from Manu Ginobili. Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, Tiago Splitter, Boris Diaw, Marco Belinelli and Patty Mills also cracked the 10-point mark.

The Spurs starters rested in the fourth quarter in anticipation of Wednesday's pre-holiday appetizer.

The Thunder finished with the best record in the Western Conference last season, only to lose out in the semifinals when Russell Westbrook went down with a knee injury.

These two sides met in the Western Conference Finals in 2012. The Thunder prevailed in six games, but lost the title to the Miami Heat.

The Thunder have won four straight since back-to-back losses to the Los Angeles Clippers and Golden State Warriors.

Their most recent victory came on Sunday when the Thunder rolled past the hapless Utah Jazz, 95-73, at Chesapeake Energy Arena. Russell Westbrook had the night off to rest his knees, but five OKC players scored in double figures.

Kevin Durant paced the Thunder with 19 points. Serge Ibaka added 17 points, 11 rebounds and three blocks. Reggie Jackson, Jeremy Lamb and Perry Jones of all people, also posted double-digit scoring nights.

"All I have got to do is be ready when coach calls my name," Jones said. "Just go out there and do what I know I can do, and go out there and do what I've been working on."

Wednesday's game will be the fourth in a six-game homestand for the Thunder.

The two teams split four meetings last season, but the Spurs have prevailed in 10 of the last 13 matchups. The Thunder have won three of four regular-season bouts between the two in Oklahoma City.
