NBA Game Summary - Milwaukee at New Orleans

(Friday, March 7th)

Final Score: New Orleans 112, Milwaukee 104

New Orleans, LA (SportsNetwork.com) - Anthony Morrow scored 12 of his 16 points in the final quarter to push the New Orleans Pelicans to a 112-104 win over the Milwaukee Bucks.

"Not taking anything away from individuals, but we go into the game and we have a game against Davis and Tyreke Evans and (Eric) Gordon and guys like that. It's the guys off the bench who end up hurting us," Milwaukee head coach Larry Drew said of Morrow's performance.

Anthony Davis registered 29 points and 14 rebounds, and Tyreke Evans chipped in 25 points and seven assists for the Pelicans, who have won back-to-back contests for the first time in a month.

New Orleans snapped an eight-game losing streak with a 132-125 win over the Lakers at Staples Center on Tuesday, and three nights later got a strong fourth quarter to notch its 12th straight home win over the Bucks. They've beaten Milwaukee in 14 of the last 16 meetings.

It's the first two-game winning streak for New Orleans since Feb. 5 and 7 against Atlanta and Minnesota.

"It's a big win for us. Any win is a big win for us," Hornets head coach Monty Williams said.

Khris Middleton had 25 points and Jeff Adrien notched 20 points and 10 rebounds for the Bucks, who have dropped 12 of their last 13 road contests.

A layup from Ramon Sessions boosted the Bucks to a 79-78 edge 11 seconds into the final quarter, but the Pelicans responded 15-6 spurt, capped by Morrow's 3-pointer with 7:13 remaining.

John Henson's hook shot had the visitors within 104-99 with 1:17 to go, but the Pelicans made enough free throws down the stretch.

The visitors claimed a 25-22 lead after one quarter. but New Orleans held a 51-49 edge going to the half.

Middleton had eight points in the third to help the Bucks get within a point moving to the fourth. Milwaukee was up five late in the third, but Davis made two baskets late, including a running jumper at the buzzer to give the hosts a 78-77 lead.
