NBA Game Summary - Indiana at Golden State

(Monday, January 20th)

Final Score: Indiana 102, Golden State 94

Oakland, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Paul George led five Indiana players in double figures with 23 points to help the Pacers take a 102-94 win over the Golden State Warriors on Monday.

Lance Stephenson narrowly missed a triple-double with 14 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists and David West finished with 17 points for the Pacers, winners in five straight.

"I felt good coming off screens, dribbling the ball and hitting some shots," said George. "It's just tough running around with those guys and still having legs to make shots at the end. That's really what the toughness was."

Roy Hibbert turned in a double-double with 14 points and 13 boards and George Hill finished with 15 in the win.

Stephen Curry had 24 points and nine assists, David Lee scored 20 and pulled down 12 rebounds and Andrew Bogut had 10 points and 13 boards for the Warriors, who lost for the third time in four games.

Klay Thompson scored 17 points on 5-of-10 shooting from 3-point range in the setback.

Golden State trailed by 20, 60-40, after Stephenson's tip-in with 10:48 remaining in the third quarter. The Warriors, though, cut the deficit to single digits, 68-60, after Curry knocked down a 19-footer at the 5:06 mark.

The Pacers managed to push their spread back to 11 points later in the frame, but Curry buried a deep 3 with 34 seconds left to make it 77-69 entering the final frame. Curry finished with 10 points in the third.

Harrison Barnes' 3-pointer just 2:08 into the fourth made it 79-77, but an 8-2 swing put the Pacers in front 87-79.

A pair of Lee free throws pulled Golden State within three, but the Pacers answered with a Luis Scola tip-in for a 91-86 lead. On the ensuing possession, Draymond Green was fouled and split a pair of free throws to make it a two- possession game, but Stephenson delivered a dagger on the other end with a 3- pointer from the wing.

Thompson and Hill traded 3's, and the Warriors never got closer than four the rest of the way.

"That's a championship caliber team. There is a reason why they are talked about and getting recognition both individually and collectively," said Warriors coach Mark Jackson. "I really like my team. I like the way we responded in the second half. I like the fact that we made mistakes, gave up 17 offensive rebounds while turning the ball over and we were still in the ballgame. When we begin to take care of the little things it's going to be scary at how good we can be."

Indiana led 35-21 after 12 minutes and took a 53-40 lead into the break.

Game Notes
