NBA Preview from The Sports Network

Wednesday, February 5th (All times Eastern)

Milwaukee Bucks (9-39) at Denver Nuggets (23-23), 9 p.m.

(SportsNetwork.com) - The Denver Nuggets snapped a short losing streak last time out and will try for back-to-back wins Wednesday night when they welcome the Milwaukee Bucks to Pepsi Center.

On Monday, Randy Foye fixed a broken play at the buzzer, draining a miracle 3- pointer to send the Nuggets over the visiting Los Angeles Clippers, 116-115, in a thriller.

Matt Barnes provided the 22nd lead change in a back-and-forth affair on an unlikely 3-pointer with 6.2 seconds remaining, leaving just enough time for the Nuggets to steal a win.

J.J. Hickson held the ball near the top of the key for a slow-developing pick- and-roll, and Foye rushed over to take the ball away from the big man. With Blake Griffin in his face, Foye faded away from 30 feet and released it just before the buzzer, sliding on his back as the ball dropped through the net.

"Man, it's surreal. Pandemonium. Chills went through my body. My teammates jumped on me. I think somebody hurt my leg, but I didn't feel anything. I just went numb. It's just an unbelievable feeling," Foye said.

The Nuggets, who have relied heavily on their bench all season, saw all five of their starters score in double figures. Kenneth Faried posted a career-high 28 points with 11 rebounds and Ty Lawson scored 27 in the win.

Denver had lost back-to-back home games prior to Monday night, falling to the Charlotte Bobcats and Toronto Raptors. After Wednesday's tilt, the Nuggets head east for four games.

The Bucks will be in search of consecutive wins for the first time all season on Wednesday.

Milwaukee, which has dropped nine straight on the road, inched closer to double-digit victories on Monday when the Bucks earned a late win over the New York Knicks at the Bradley Center.

Brandon Knight buried a 3-pointer with 2.3 seconds left to lift the Bucks past the Knicks, 101-98.

Coming out of a timeout, Carmelo Anthony canned a wide-open trey from the top of the key to tie the game, 98-98, with 19.4 seconds left.

On the ensuing Bucks possession, Knight dribbled down the clock and hit a contested 3-pointer to help the Bucks snap a seven-game losing streak to the Knicks and six-game losing streak overall.

"I got into a rhythm and was able to knock down the shot," Knight said of the deciding bucket. "We just kept fighting. We took a step in the right direction."

Knight finished with 25 points and seven assists, Khris Middleton tallied 19 points, and Giannis Antetokounmpo added 15 points of the bench in the win. Ersan Ilyasova and Zaza Pachulia scored 13 and 12 points, respectively, for Milwaukee.

After Wednesday's trip to Denver, the Bucks play six straight in Milwaukee.

The Nuggets have won six straight in this series and six of the last seven in the Mile High City.
