NBA Game Summary - Golden State at Milwaukee

(Tuesday, January 7th)

Final Score: Golden State 101, Milwaukee 80

Milwaukee, WI (SportsNetwork.com) - The Golden State Warriors have their first 10-game winning streak in more than 38 years.

David Lee had 22 points and 18 rebounds, Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson scored 15 apiece and the Warriors continued to roll with a 101-80 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks on Tuesday night.

The Warriors haven't lost since Dec. 19 to San Antonio. Their last six wins have all come on the road, where they will wrap up a seven-game trek Wednesday in Brooklyn.

Their last 10-game winning streak was Dec. 6-23, 1975, and included a victory over Milwaukee.

Curry was 5-of-18 from the field, including 2-of-11 on 3-pointers, but Warriors coach Mark Jackson said his team is made to withstand such things.

"We're not built offensively. We're built defensively," said Jackson. "You can have off-nights offensively and still win ballgames. We defended at a high level and when you do that good things happen."

The Warriors held the Bucks to 38.8 percent shooting.

Andrew Bogut, who played for the Bucks from 2005-12, had eight points and 12 rebounds in his first game in Milwaukee as a visiting player.

Ersan Ilyasova had 20 points and Brandon Knight scored 18 for the Bucks, who have dropped 11 of their last 13 games.

The Warriors snapped a three-game losing streak to the Bucks, beating them for just the second time in the last nine meetings.

"We knew we would have to play a really solid game for four quarters against this team," said Bucks coach Larry Drew. "Give credit where credit is due. They got a lot of weapons."

Curry hit a 3 and Lee and Bogut scored four points apiece in a 16-2 run that gave the Warriors an 18-point lead with five minutes left in the third quarter.

It reached 20, but the Bucks closed the quarter on an 11-2 run bookended by O.J. Mayo 3s to go into the fourth down 79-68. Milwaukee never got closer than eight the rest of the way and Golden State's lead reached as high as 22.

Both teams shot better than 54 percent in the first quarter and the Bucks had a 30-28 lead going into the second.

Toney Douglas made two 3s in a 10-0 Warriors run to open the second quarter. They led by as many as 10, but Milwaukee pulled within 50-48 at halftime.

Game Notes

Golden State shot 46.4 percent and won the rebounding battle 54-37 ... The Warriors have won seven straight on the road ... The Bucks host Chicago on Friday.
