NBA Game Summary - San Antonio at Golden State

(Saturday, March 22nd)

Final Score: San Antonio 99, Golden State 90

Oakland, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Tony Parker scored 20 points and Danny Green added 18 to lead the San Antonio Spurs to a 99-90 win over the Golden State Warriors.

Tiago Splitter added 17 points and 14 rebounds, Kawhi Leonard scored 16 and Marco Belinelli finished with 15 points for the Spurs, who have won a season- high 13 straight games.

San Antonio forward Tim Duncan (rest) and guard Manu Ginobili (rest) were both inactive for the victory.

"Everybody stepped up," Parker said. "When somebody's not playing, it's just other guys who will do it. And we trust each other."

Stephen Curry scored 20 points and Klay Thompson added 16 for the Warriors, who had a three-game winning streak snapped.

San Antonio led 44-30 following Splitter's layup with 6 1/2 minutes left in the second quarter, but the Warriors scored 10 straight to pull within four following Curry's stepback jumper just over two minutes later.

The Spurs were able to stretch their lead back to six later in the frame, but a David Lee finger roll and a Thompson free throw made it 50-47 entering the break.

The Warriors briefly led early in the third when Andrew Bogut got a running hook to go, but the Spurs took the lead back and went up 58-54 following Parker's pullup with seven minutes left in the third.

Steve Blake buried a trey to give Golden State a 61-60 edge with 5:42 left in the third, but a 16-7 run, capped with six straight points from Belinelli, gave the Spurs the lead for good at 76-67. San Antonio took a 76-69 lead into the final frame.

The Warriors once again crept back within two, 76-74, less than two minutes into the fourth, but an 11-0 San Antonio run essentially ended any hope of a Warriors comeback. The hosts never got closer than seven the rest of the way.

"We made some mistakes. It's a disappointing loss. It'll make us better," Warriors coach Mark Jackson said. "Hopefully we see them down the road again, but there's a reason why they're the best team in basketball."

San Antonio led 32-22 after the first quarter.

Game Notes

Spurs guard Matt Bonner also missed the game with a right calf strain ... The Spurs scored 27 points off 18 Golden State turnovers ... Warriors guard Andre Iguodala missed his third straight game with right knee tendinitis ... Bogut had 17 rebounds in the setback.
