NBA Game Summary - Cleveland at San Antonio

(Saturday, November 23rd)

Final Score: San Antonio 126, Cleveland 96

San Antonio, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - Danny Green paced a balanced scoring attack with 17 points as the San Antonio Spurs routed the Cleveland Cavaliers, 126-96, from AT&T Center.

The Spurs, winners of 10 in a row, outscored Cleveland 35-11 in the second quarter to take a commanding 65-32 edge into halftime. All 13 active Spurs' players recorded at least 11 minutes in the contest, and Jeff Ayres and Aron Baynes were the low scorers with six points apiece.

Patty Mills shot 5-of-8 for 15 points off the bench as San Antonio remained perfect in six home tilts this season. Tony Parker tallied 12 points and a game-high seven assists while Tiago Splitter and Marco Belinelli notched 10 points each.

"It's always good to get the bench minutes so the guys feel comfortable," Spurs coach Gregg Popovich said. "Especially the guys who haven't been here before, so they can understand the system better. They can feel a part of things and obviously give some of the other guys a rest. Especially in a back- to-back situation."

The Spurs were 16-of-24 from 3-point range.

The lone bright spots for Cleveland in the setback were Andrew Bynum and Matthew Dellavedova. Bynum, who has been dealing with knee problems, matched a season-high with 21 minutes and scored a season-best 16 points. Dellavedova netted a career-high 14 points in his second career start.

"Four of those guys I coached when I was here as an assistant coach back in 2000," Cavs coach Mike Brown said of the Spurs. "They're the same nucleus that is playing for them now, so it has been engrained in them a long time. It didn't just happen overnight."

The hosts wasted no time assuming control, jumping out to a 9-2 lead less than three minutes in before Dellavedova halted the run with a deep 3. Kyrie Irving's jumper at the 3:16 mark of the first made it 21-17 in favor of the Spurs, but Cleveland would get no closer.

San Antonio led 30-21 after the first and maintained a double-digit advantage in the early portion of the second. The lead was 13 following a Dion Waiters jump shot at 8:38, but the Cavs mustered just seven points for the rest of the half.

Meanwhile, the Spurs shot better than 50 percent and 9-of-12 from the foul line in the frame.

Irving scored 11 in the third for Cleveland, but Green made all three of his treys in the period.
