NBA Game Summary - Sacramento at Golden State

(Friday, April 4th)

Final Score: Golden State 102, Sacramento 69

Oakland, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Klay Thompson paced seven Warriors in double figures with 21 points as Golden State took care of the Sacramento Kings, 102-69, on Friday in dominating fashion.

Harrison Barnes scored 16 points off the bench and Stephen Curry and Jermaine O'Neal donated 13 apiece for Golden State, which led 59-27 at halftime and was never really threatened.

Marreese Speights and Jordan Crawford poured in 12 and 11 points, respectively, for the Warriors, who were coming off a 21-point loss to the Western Conference leading Spurs. Speights and Draymond Green had 10 rebounds apiece.

"We understood what we had to do tonight and the guys did exactly that," said Warriors coach Mark Jackson. "Guys needed rest and guys got rest tonight. We took care of business."

Golden State won despite playing without starting big men David Lee (hamstring) and Andrew Bogut (pelvis).

DeMarcus Cousins was the lone bright spot for the Kings, tallying 19 points and 11 boards in the lopsided defeat. Ray McCallum matched a career-high with 10 assists but shot just 2-of-14 as Sacramento's brief two-game winning streak came to an end.

"A very tough night all the way around for us," said Kings coach Michael Malone. "Hopefully we can respond against Dallas on Sunday."

Cousins made his only field goal attempt of the first quarter, while the rest of the Kings starters shot 0-for-8 in the period. The Warriors made only 37 percent of their shots, however, and led 25-14 through 12 minutes.

The hosts won the game in the second quarter. Crawford's 3-pointer 1:23 into the frame made it 32-14. Barnes and Curry then hit triples around a Jason Thompson tip-in, and at 7:02 of the stanza the margin reached 21 points, 38-17.

Later in the second, a pair of Rudy Gay free throws had the Kings within 19, but the Warriors finished the half on a 13-0 run to take a 32-point lead into the halftime break.

Sacramento shot just 4-of-23 in the second, missing its last nine attempts.

The margin reached 42 points in the second half.
