NBA Preview from The Sports Network

Saturday, December 7th (All times Eastern)

Golden State Warriors (11-9) at Memphis Grizzlies (9-9), 8 p.m.

(SportsNetwork.com) - The Golden State Warriors' two-game winning streak ended with a thud on Friday, but no rest for the weary as they visit the Memphis Grizzlies at FedExForum Saturday night.

The Warriors started a three-game excursion in Houston Friday night and got demolished, 105-83. The Rockets started the game with a 31-12 first quarter, essentially wrapping this one up early.

"It was a bad loss," said Jackson. "The starters did a poor job of setting the tone. We got out worked. They played with more force and that set the tone the rest of the way."

Golden State shot 35.5. percent from the field and committed 22 turnovers.

Stephen Curry paced the Warriors with 22 points, followed by 14 from Harrison Barnes, 12 from Kent Bazemore and 11 from David Lee. Klay Thompson only managed five points.

This loss came after a tough win at home on Tuesday when the Warriors overcame a 27-point second-half deficit. They've dropped six of nine and in the tough Western Conference, a team can't afford to see too many losses.

"There is no magic formula but we have to play hard and play better, especially on the road," said Curry. "It's frustrating. We have to able to turn it on early and set the tone as starters for the rest of the team."

The Warriors, who own a 5-7 road record, still have to visit Charlotte on this trip.

The Grizzlies will resume a six-game homestand versus the Warriors and dropped a 101-81 decision to the Los Angeles Clippers on Thursday to fall to 1-2 on the residency.

Zach Randolph returned to Memphis' lineup after missing two games with a toe injury and recorded a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds, but was limited to 4-of-13 shooting.

"When they started hitting shots, I think we just dropped our heads," Randolph said after the Clippers made 11-of-20 3-pointers and got 15 points from Chris Paul, Darren Collison and Jamal Crawford.

Kosta Koufos totaled 17 points and nine rebounds, while Mike Conley netted 16 points for the Grizzlies, who are still without reigning Defensive Player of the Year Marc Gasol (knee).

Memphis is 4-6 at home and will also host Orlando and Oklahoma City, and had 32 home wins a season ago.

The Grizzlies have already defeated the Warriors twice this season and will close the series March 28 in Oakland. Memphis has won 11 straight and 13 of the last 15 meetings with Golden State, which has lost nine in a row, 14 of 17 and 16 of its last 20 trips to Beale Street.
