NBA Preview from The Sports Network

Wednesday, November 20th (All times Eastern)

Brooklyn Nets (3-7) at Charlotte Bobcats (5-6), 7 p.m.

(Sports Network) - The Brooklyn Nets have been terrible of late, but they'll have a chance to get back on track Wednesday night when they visit The Time Warner Cable Arena to face the Charlotte Bobcats.

The Nets have dropped two straight and five of their last six. Brooklyn is a disappointing 1-5 on the road this season and just returned from a 1-2 sojourn out west.

But between that trip and this one, where the Nets will also visit Minnesota on Friday, Brooklyn fell at home to the red-hot Portland Trail Blazers on Monday, 108-98.

"I don't know if it was what Portland did," said Nets head coach Jason Kidd. "We had some great looks on offense but we didn't score."

With Deron Williams and Brook Lopez still out of action due to injury, six Nets scored in double figures, led by 23 from Shaun Livingston. Kevin Garnett had his highest-scoring game as a Net with 16 points. Joe Johnson, Paul Pierce, Andray Blatche and Alan Anderson all cracked the 10-point plateau.

Williams could be back for Wednesday's game, but Lopez will sit again.

The Bobcats have dropped two straight after back-to-back wins. They fell at home on Saturday to the two-time defending champion Miami Heat, then lost in Chicago on Monday, 86-81.

Against the Bulls, the Bobcats built a four-point halftime lead. They only managed 37 points the rest of the way for the setback.

"We played them hard. We just didn't come up with the plays at the end of the game," guard Gerald Henderson said.

Jeff Taylor led Charlotte in scoring with 20 points off the bench. Henderson chipped in 16 and Josh McRoberts added 11.

The Bobcats committed only nine turnovers in the loss and will be without Al Jefferson once again.

Charlotte will play four of its next five at home, where the Bobcats are 2-3 this season.

The Bobcats are dead-last in the NBA in scoring this season, but rank fourth in opponents' scoring. The Nets aren't doing well in either at this point, coming in 19th in scoring and 22nd in opponents' scoring.

Brooklyn swept all three meetings with Charlotte last season and has taken seven in a row against the Bobcats. The Nets have won four straight in Charlotte.
