NBA Preview from The Sports Network

Tuesday, November 5th (All times Eastern)

Indiana Pacers (3-0) at Detroit Pistons (2-1), 7:30 p.m.

(SportsNetwork.com) - Paul George and the Indiana Pacers shoot for a 4-0 start when they visit the Detroit Pistons Tuesday at The Palace of Auburn Hills.

The Pacers have won their first three games of the season and haven't started 4-0 since the 2004-05 campaign.

Indiana is coming off Saturday's 89-74 win versus the Cleveland Cavaliers, as George posted his first double-double of the season with 21 points and a season-high 13 rebounds. Lance Stephenson led the Pacers with a career-high tying 22 points and Roy Hibbert finished with 11 and five rebounds.

"Paul George and Lance Stephenson are guys who easily drove the ship tonight," Indiana head coach Frank Vogel said.

The Pacers had a 51-37 advantage on the glass and allowed only two second- chance points. Indiana, which has shot better than 40 percent in each game this season, blocked six shots versus the Cavs and lead the NBA with 36. Hibbert has a league-leading 14 swats.

George Hill did not suit up for Vogel's squad due to soreness in his left hip and is probable against the Pistons.

Detroit will resume its three-game homestand Tuesday and opened it with an 87-77 victory over the listless Boston Celtics Sunday night.

The Pistons took advantage of 24 Boston turnovers, turning them into 21 points, and five players scored in double figures. Andre Drummond had 15 points and 12 rebounds, Josh Smith also had 15 points and Greg Monroe followed suit with 15 points and 10 boards.

Brandon Jennings and Rodney Stuckey scored 14 and 10 points, respectively, for the Pistons, who held a game-high 52-37 lead early in the third quarter and later needed a 10-0 run to regain a 73-65 advantage. Boston then cut the lead to two at 79-77, but the Pistons responded with eight straight points to close it out.

Jennings, who missed the Pistons' first two games after undergoing wisdom tooth surgery, made his Detroit debut. He spent the first four years of his career with Milwaukee.

"Obviously we knew Brandon Jennings could play," Pistons head coach Maurice Cheeks said. "It was just good to see him out there and see the effect that he can have on a team because he brings a little bit of electricity to the game."

Meanwhile, Drummond needs one block for 100 in his career and seven rebounds for 500.

Detroit will also host Oklahoma City at The Palace before embarking on a four- game western jaunt against the Blazers, Warriors, Kings and Lakers.

The Pistons lost all four meetings with Indiana last season and is winless in the previous five matchups between the teams. The Pacers are 14-3 in the last 17 games in this series.
