NBA Preview from The Sports Network

Sunday, March 2nd (All times Eastern)

Golden State Warriors (36-23) at Toronto Raptors (32-26), 4 p.m.

(SportsNetwork.com) - The Golden State Warriors continue what has been a successful road trip thus far when they visit Air Canada Centre on Sunday to face the Toronto Raptors.

The Warriors are 2-1 on this six-game eastern sojourn which will see them visit the Indiana Pacers and Boston Celtics before returning home to the Bay Area.

Last time out, the Warriors were sensational against the floundering New York Knicks, routing the home team, 126-103.

It may not have been quite the performance as his last visit there, but Stephen Curry still dazzled once again in his return to Madison Square Garden.

Just over a year to the day when he exploded for a career-high 54 points and went 11-of-13 from 3-point range in a 109-105 road loss to the Knicks, Curry tallied 27 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists before taking a seat with the Warriors comfortably ahead at the start of the fourth.

"It is pretty special," Curry said of his triple-double. "I haven't had one since my rookie year before this year started. I am trying to impact the game in different areas."

Klay Thompson also rested the final frame after racking up 25 points, with Jermaine O'Neal adding 15 in just 20 minutes to help Golden State bounce back from Wednesday's 20-point loss in Chicago.

The Raptors had a three-game winning streak come to an end in their last appearance on the hardwood.

It took three overtimes before the Washington Wizards finally left Canada with a 134-129 victory on Thursday night.

DeMar DeRozan netted a game-high 34 points in more than 57 minutes for Toronto, while Kyle Lowry -- who injured his ankle late in regulation but stayed in and played 54 himself -- flirted with a triple-double in the setback. Lowry finished with 18 points, 10 assists and nine boards.

"He (Lowry) stayed in the game but he turned his ankle real bad," said Toronto coach Dwane Casey. "Next man up. Greivis Vasquez did a heck of a job coming in and covering for Kyle. He took the ball-handling duties away from him, letting him rest on the side. I thought Kyle still battled on defense and that was huge for us."

Vasquez finished with 26 points off the bench. Amir Johnson chipped in 16.

Lowry wasn't the only injured Raptor on Thursday. Toronto guard Terrence Ross left in the second quarter with a sprained left ankle and did not return, despite scoring 11 points.

The Raptors host the Sacramento Kings on Friday, then hit the road for two straight.

The Warriors beat the Raptors at Oracle Arena on Dec. 3 and have won three straight in the series and eight of the last nine.
