NBA Game Summary - Cleveland at New York

(Sunday, March 23rd)

Final Score: Cleveland 106, New York 100

New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Jarrett Jack scored a season-high 31 points and also handed out 10 assists to lead the Cleveland Cavaliers to a 106-100 win over the New York Knicks.

Dion Waiters added 22 points and Luol Deng finished with 13 for the Cavaliers, who had dropped four straight entering the contest. Cleveland shot 60.9 percent from the floor in the win.

"Coach (Mike Brown) gave us a pretty good talking to at halftime. He challenged us. He lit a fire underneath us. The guys responded and came out and played well," said Jack.

Carmelo Anthony poured in 32 points and J.R. Smith added 18 for the Knicks, who had a season-high eight-game winning streak snapped.

Raymond Felton finished with 14 points, eight assists and six rebounds and Tim Hardaway Jr. and Amare Stoudemire finished with 12 points apiece in the loss.

The Cavs trailed by nine early in the fourth quarter, but used a 13-4 run to tie things up at 90-90 with 7:29 left. After a pair of Anthony free throws made it 94-93, the Cavs scored seven straight to take a 100-94 lead with 2:38 to go.

The Knicks managed to get within two, 102-100, after a pair of Anthony free throws with 42.2 seconds to play, but a Jack layup and a pair of Matthew Dellavedova free throws with 13.4 seconds left sealed the outcome.

Smith's buzzer-beating 3-pointer gave New York a 34-27 lead at the end of the first and the Knicks held a 61-46 lead at the break.

New York led 73-63 with 6:11 remaining in the third following Anthony's 3- pointer and took an 84-77 lead into the final frame.

"I thought we started out well. We came in after the halftime, I thought we were playing pretty good basketball, then we went dry in the third. We came out in the third so slow," said Knicks coach Mike Woodson.
