NBA Preview from The Sports Network

Friday, January 10th (All times Eastern)

Charlotte Bobcats (15-21) at Minnesota Timberwolves (17-18), 8 p.m.

(SportsNetwork.com) - Kevin Love and the Minnesota Timberwolves look to rebound when they host the Charlotte Bobcats Friday night at Target Center.

The Timberwolves will try to avoid their third straight loss at home and dropped a 104-103 decision to the Phoenix Suns Wednesday, as Love had an "off" night with 15 points and 12 rebounds. Love, who is third in the NBA with 26.1 points per game and second with 13,2 rebounds per game, had scored 20 or more points in each of his previous 14 games.

Kevin Martin tallied 20 points for Minnesota, which dropped to 0-10 this season in games decided by four points or less and has alternated wins and losses over the past six contests. The Suns scored the last seven points to erase a 103-97 hole.

"It's just a real tough loss. We just kind of gave it away," Wolves head coach Rick Adelman said.

Nikola Pekovic posted 17 points with 12 rebounds in defeat.

Minnesota is 10-7 as the host and has lost three of its last four at home. It is 6-1 at home against teams from the Eastern Conference.

The Bobcats are in the midst of playing nine of 11 games on the road and have lost six of seven games, including Tuesday's 97-83 setback versus Washington.

Gerald Henderson paced the Bobcats with a season-high 27 points and Kemba Walker added 19 in a losing cause. Ramon Sessions was the other Bobcat in double figures, finishing with 10 points off the bench.

"We got down in the third quarter and just couldn't come back from it," said Henderson, who is averaging 18.0 ppg in his last seven. "It's disappointing."

Al Jefferson had six points and 10 rebounds. He had scored 10 or more points in 22 straight games. Despite the loss, the Bobcats have held their opponent under 100 points in 25 of their 36 games this season.

Charlotte is 7-10 away from home and took both meetings with Minnesota a season ago. The Bobcats are 10-3 in the past 13 games against the T'Wolves.
