NBA Preview from The Sports Network

Saturday, November 16th (All times Eastern)

Utah Jazz (1-9) at Golden State Warriors (6-3), 10:30 p.m.

(SportsNetwork.com) - The Golden State Warriors will try for a third straight win on Saturday night when they welcome the Utah Jazz to Oracle Arena.

Golden State has knocked off the Detroit Pistons and Oklahoma City Thunder on this recent homestand. The win against the Thunder was spectacular as Andre Iguodala drained a fade away jumper as time expired for the 116-115 victory.

"They overplayed him. He has a high basketball IQ. He read it, reacted, stayed patient, got the catch and made an incredible shot," head coach Mark Jackson said of Iguodala's shot. "Just a big win for my guys."

Klay Thompson led the Warriors with 27 points on 6-for-9 3-point shooting. Stephen Curry added 22 points and David Lee chipped in with 20. Iguodala finished with 14 points and nine assists and Harrison Barnes netted 16 off the bench.

The Warriors nearly squandered a nine-point lead after three quarters, but hung on for the impressive victory.

"That's a team that we have a lot of respect for. That's a team that will have a lot of success moving forward in this season and a team that is going to have to be dealt with come playoff time," Jackson said of the Thunder. "We know who we are. We are a confident basketball team that believes that when we play the right way, when we defend, when we execute offensively we are going to win ball games."

After securing their first victory of the season against the New Orleans Pelicans on Wednesday, the Jazz fell at home to the San Antonio Spurs Friday, 91-82.

The Jazz built a 13-point lead after the first quarter and were five ahead at the half. Utah was seven clear after three quarters, but got dusted in the fourth to the tune of 31-15.

"I thought for the most part we stuck to the game plan," said Jazz head coach Tyrone Corbin. "But you saw their experience. That's a good team over there. They know what to do to close a game out."

The Jazz struggled from the field, shooting 38.5 percent.

All five starters scored in double figures, led by a monster game from Derrick Favors. He finished with 20 points and 18 rebounds.

Gordon Hayward (15), Richard Jefferson (14), Alec Burks (12) and Enes Kanter (10) rounded out the scoring for the Jazz. The Utah bench managed a meager eight points.

The Jazz won two of three meetings between the two teams last season and two of the last three against Golden State in Oracle Arena.
