NBA Preview from The Sports Network

Wednesday, March 26th (All times Eastern)

Cleveland Cavaliers (28-44) at Detroit Pistons (26-44), 7:30 p.m.

(SportsNetwork.com) - The Cleveland Cavaliers visit The Palace of Auburn Hills Wednesday night for a Central Division clash against the Detroit Pistons.

The Cavs have won two in a row, but still trail the Atlanta Hawks by 4 1/2 games for the final playoff berth in the Eastern Conference.

On Tuesday, six Cavaliers scored in double figures, with Dion Waiters netting a game-high 24 points in Cleveland's 102-100 win over the Toronto Raptors at Quicken Loans Arena.

Luol Deng had 19 points, Tristan Thompson scored 15 with 13 rebounds and Jarrett Jack totaled 13 points, five boards and five assists to help Cleveland win its second straight game on the heels of four straight losses. Waiters and Deng had seven assists apiece.

It was 102-99 in the final seconds when DeMar DeRozan drove and drew a foul on Alonzo Gee. DeRozan split the pair with 7.8 seconds to play, cutting the margin to two, and after spending a timeout, Anderson Varejao overthrew Deng on the inbounds at the other end, giving the ball back to Toronto.

On the final possession, Greivis Vasquez drove left on Jack but lost his footing, forcing a pass that Deng easily intercepted to run out the remaining time.

"We didn't get rattled and we made plays when we needed them," Waiters said.

The Cavs play four of their next five on the road.

The Pistons snapped a five-game losing streak and a 13-game road slide on Monday with a 10-point victory in Salt Lake City over the Utah Jazz.

Andre Drummond finished with 19 points and 14 rebounds and led six Pistons in double figures as Detroit picked up its first road win in over two months with a 114-94 win over the Jazz.

The Pistons last won on the road on Jan. 18 and had came up empty in 10 straight visits to Salt Lake City before Monday's wire-to-wire drubbing.

Rodney Stuckey also scored 19 points for Detroit, while Greg Monroe chipped in 18 points and 11 rebounds and Brandon Jennings netted 15 with eight assists in the rout.

"(Winning in Utah) is very rare. I think we played as a team tonight. We were helping each other offensively and defensively. We just played well as a team," Stuckey said.

The two rivals have split two meetings this season with the visitor prevailing in each instance. The Pistons have won seven of their last eight against Cleveland and three of their last four as the host in this series.
