NBA Game Summary - Milwaukee at Washington

(Friday, December 6th)

Final Score: Milwaukee 109, Washington 105 (OT)

Washington, DC (SportsNetwork.com) - Khris Middleton netted a career-high 29 points as the Milwaukee Bucks topped the injury-riddled Washington Wizards in overtime, 109-105, from Verizon Center.

After Milwaukee scored the final five points of regulation to force overtime, John Henson and Ersan Ilyasova opened the extra session with buckets for a 106-102 lead. The Wizards were held without a point until Trevor Ariza drew a foul shooting a 3 with 42.8 seconds remaining and hit all of the subsequent free throws for a one-point margin.

Brandon Knight came back and swished a deep jumper for the Bucks before forcing John Wall into a crucial turnover. Knight then split a pair at the line with 10.2 seconds to seal Milwaukee's fourth win of the season.

"We've given away a lot of wins, we've gifted a lot of teams this year," said Knight. "Just to see our growth from one week to the next, that's what I'm proud of with our team."

Henson was terrific for the Bucks, tallying 19 points and 17 rebounds while Knight and O.J. Mayo deposited 20 and 17 points, respectively.

Wall made 12-of-13 from the line en route to 30 points and eight assists for the Wizards, who snapped a two-game winning streak and failed to go over .500 for the first time this season.

"To their credit, they came in here and beat us," said Washington head coach Randy Wittman. "They deserved to win."

Ariza had 22 points with 12 boards for Washington, which lost Martell Webster (ankle) and Nene (foot) to injuries during the game. The Wizards were already shorthanded, having played the last six games without leading scorer Bradley Beal.

Milwaukee led from late in the first quarter until early in the fourth, when Wall found Trevor Booker down low for an 85-84 lead with 8:21 to play.

The fourth quarter went back-and-forth, with the lead trading hands 10 times following Booker's layup. Wall then gave Washington an edge when he made four straight free throws, created an easy bucket for Marcin Gortat after penetration and drained a mid-range jumper that put the Wizards in front by five with 54 seconds left.

The Bucks responded, however, with a Middleton jumper and Knight triple to force overtime, as Chris Singleton's corner 3 was off the mark as the buzzer sounded.

Game Notes

Webster left the game after spraining his left ankle on the final play of the first quarter and did not return, while Nene left in the third period with right foot tendonitis ... Otto Porter made his NBA debut after missing the first 18 games with a hip flexor injury. Porter went 0-for-3 from the floor grabbed two rebounds in 14 minutes ... The Bucks outscored Washington 52-34 in the paint.
