NBA Preview from The Sports Network

Wednesday, November 20th (All times Eastern)

Toronto Raptors (4-7) at Philadelphia 76ers (5-7), 7 p.m.

(SportsNetwork.com) - The Philadelphia 76ers will try to halt a three-game losing streak on Wednesday when they return home to take on the Toronto Raptors.

The Sixers dropped all three recent stops on a road trip, including a 10-point loss in Atlanta, an embarrassing 37-point drubbing in New Orleans and a narrow defeat in Dallas on Monday night.

The Mavericks came out with a 97-94 victory.

"I was proud of our guys. I thought it showed a lot to come back from arguably our worst performance in New Orleans, and we lost to a good team," said Sixers coach Brett Brown.

Evan Turner led all scorers with 26 points, but he also had nine rebounds and seven assists. Tony Wroten filled in once again for rookie Michael Carter- Williams, who sat out his fourth straight with a sore foot, and had 19 points.

Spencer Hawes and Thaddeus Young both had double-doubles and James Anderson scored 14 points.

The Sixers struggled to 38.4 percent from the floor, 28.6 percent from the 3- point line and a dismal 54.5. percent from the free-throw line. They did force 21 Dallas turnovers.

The Raptors have fallen the last two times out, including home losses to the Chicago Bulls and red-hot Portland Trail Blazers. Toronto lost to the Blazers, 118-110 in overtime on Sunday, despite a furious fourth-quarter comeback.

The Raptors allowed Portland to shoot 46.9 percent from long range.

"One of the best offensive teams that we've seen," said head coach Dwane Casey. "I think as far as scoring the basketball, averaging 103 points a game, they are a very explosive offensive team so we've got to be on point. We've got to guard the 3-point line."

Rudy Gay led the way for the Raptors against the Blazers with 30 points and 10 rebounds. Unfortunately, Gay shot 12-for-27 from the field and didn't have one assist in almost 42 minutes of action.

DeMar DeRozan managed 29 points, while Jonas Valanciunas scored 19. Kyle Lowry had 10 points and 10 assists.

These Atlantic Division rivals will meet three more times.

The Sixers took three of four from the Raptors last season and seven of the last nine. Philly is 4-1 in its last five at home against Toronto.
